Adobe Dimension is a 3D Mockup tool which is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud. In this course, you will learn how to work in a 3d environment, import 3d models, add in textures, render and export final outputs.
In this video lesson, we will learn about Custom Environment Lights in Adobe Dimension.

00:00So over here in the lighting section, you can see that I have some default environmental
00:10lights that I can use.
00:11So if I were to go around and drag this in, then you don't see much of anything happening.
00:17But if I were to go around and bring in an object right here, then you see the particular
00:21environmental lighting right here.
00:23In my case, I have the render preview turned on as well.
00:26Let me just turn it off right here for a fast preview and bring in a metal.
00:30And you can see the reflection of the light right here.
00:33Let me just go around over here and then bring in some other materials as well, like this
00:37take out box right here, just like this.
00:39So it's loading it out.
00:40And then I'm going to go around and bring in this food can around as well.
00:44And that is the environmental light that you have right here.
00:47You can also go around and import custom environmental lighting.
00:51So to do that, you need to go around onto file, then onto import right here.
00:55And you can see that you can also add an image as light right here.
00:59So if I were to go around and select this, then you can simply download out.
01:05You can go around and select out, let's say, an SDRI lighting of your choice.
01:11And over here in my desktop, you can see that I have an image.
01:14So let me just go around and open this out right here.
01:17So once I do that, what happens is that it gets imported as an environmental light, as
01:22you can see right here.
01:23So you can change around the intensity and rotation as you like right here for this image
01:28right here.
01:29The image I brought in right here is not an SDRI image, but you can see that it can converted
01:35it into a spherical panorama right here.
01:38If it is spherical by default, then you don't need to do anything.
01:41But you can see that if it is not spherical, you might get artifacts like this, as you
01:45can see, like a crease.
01:46So you can go around, convert it into spherical panorama, and then you can see that it makes
01:52it a more natural blend right here.
01:55And you can utilize these kind of images as an environmental lighting right here, just
01:59like this.
02:00So that is how you can utilize custom environmental lighting images inside of Adobe Dimension.
