00:05Hello, Brian.
00:06What is the latest news from Venezuela on the upcoming elections on July the 28th?
00:12Well, tomorrow is the last day of the official election campaign.
00:18And so today the candidates were going around trying to drum up support.
00:24Tomorrow there's going to be massive rallies in Caracas.
00:29Nicolas Maduro is expected to draw a crowd of over 100,000.
00:32And the other candidates are also coming out to the streets in a final plea to convince
00:38the 22 million voters in Venezuela for their vote.
00:41It was a holiday today.
00:43It's the anniversary of the birth of Simon Bolivar.
00:48And it's also the 19th anniversary of Telesur.
00:51So the mood in the studio here has been a little bit more jovial than usual.
00:56But everybody's apprehensive about the upcoming election.
00:59Now today Elvis Amoroso, the head of the National Electoral Council, lashed out at the foreign
01:06media.
01:07A lot of vehicles in the northern media have been using dirty tricks to try and delegitimize
01:14the upcoming election.
01:16The Telegraph had a headline, for example, smearing Nicolas Maduro.
01:20Other newspapers have been insinuating that there's some kinds of problems with the electoral
01:26process here in Venezuela.
01:28But over 600 foreign observers have arrived, including observers from the United Nations,
01:34Brazil's Superior Electoral Court, and the Carter Center, which is the most reputable
01:39private election monitoring NGO in the world.
01:43So all eyes are on Venezuela.
