00:00Well, unfortunately, things have gone from bad to worse in terms of the track condition.
00:05Have a look at that. That is out the carousel.
00:08That's enormous. Looks like a Grand Canyon, doesn't it?
00:10Yeah, there's a little bit of concern amongst the drivers, I'm sure,
00:13because it's just keeping on opening up and it's got quite severe, I guess you could say.
00:23Well, we had that problem with it the last few months in testing here.
00:26Some teams trying to test here on hot days.
00:28The track has been breaking up. They haven't been able to do any conclusive testing,
00:31so it's been a bit of a tough time since the lakeside recovery.
00:35All right, let's have a look at the Shell Helix grid.
00:37These are the positions, obviously, the finishing positions from Race 2.
00:40England-Johnson from Row 1. Perkins and Lowndes, Row 2.
00:44Tony Longhurst moving up. Jason Bright alongside him.
00:46Alan Jones, he's on a real charge today. Stephen Richards out of 8.
00:50We go back to Position 9. Well done, Mark Skate, from 19th to 9th.
00:53Steve Ellery, a good top 10. Finnegan and Romano.
00:57All right, we are set.
00:58There is the man who has not won an Australian touring car round since 1990.
01:03He has to finish in front of Russell Ingle today to do it,
01:05but Ingle starts from the No. 1 position.
01:08We wait to see the green flag from the back.
01:10There it is. Get set for action time.
01:13Race 3, Round 3. Can Ingle get the jump and clear out,
01:17or can Dick Johnson get the jump and create another exciting race?
01:21Away we go. It's Ingle who gets away to the mess start.
01:24Johnson on the inside. Perkins coming up.
01:26Lowndes has got the inside run on him.
01:29Great start as they head down into the carousel for the first time.
01:32The Castrol Commodore takes over the lead.
01:33Johnson tucks back into second position.
01:35Lowndes has another attack on the outside of Perkins.
01:37Big field sweeping through, and right toward the back of this pack,
01:40you should see John Bow and Shell 18.
01:42He had a clutch problem in that second heat.
01:44That's why he jumped the start, and that's why he pulled out of the race.
01:46So he's got another major job to do coming back from the back of the field.
01:50Alan Jones well positioned in there as the whole field comes on through.
01:53Keep your eyes out. There's Bow with the lights on.
01:55Glenn Seton is a long way back also.
01:57He's had some terrible luck here today at Lakeside,
01:59but it's Russell Ingle who leads the way in the Castrol Commodore
02:02from Dick Johnson, who's right on his hammer.
02:04Then we pick up Perkins, and then Craig Lowndes was the next one through,
02:08and Jason Bright.
02:10John Bow looking for a way around the outside, but here's his teammate,
02:12Dick Johnson, and the sun angle's starting to get low.
02:15That's going to be murder in their eyes as they come down through this part
02:17of the track, 250 kilometers an hour.
02:19Johnson ducks down from looking on the inside.
02:21No room there.
02:22As they come through the sweeper, braking hard for the carousel.
02:24Back a couple of gears, heading up toward this section
02:27where the track is braking up really badly.
02:29There it is, right there.
02:31The drivers have got to try and adjust their line
02:33as they come through the carousel.
02:34There's nothing they can really do about it, though.
02:36That's the problem, Mark, because he's absolutely right on their line,
02:39and that's why it's braking up, you know, because that's where everybody uses.
02:42Glenn Seton, incidentally, in the previous race,
02:45he had a tire go flat on him going through the fast kink here.
02:49So he went on the grass over 250 k's an hour.
02:52That's fine.
02:53Larry Perkins has really turned up the heat on Dick Johnson.
02:55Oh, Larry!
02:57Gives Dick a nice shove there, and he lets him know he is right on his hammer.
03:00Then we go back to Lowndes.
03:01Jason Brightwell placed in fifth position.
03:04He's just ahead of Tony Longhurst.
03:05Then we pick up Stevie Richards, Jones,
03:07Scaife still in ninth, and Stephen Ellery.
03:10Crowd giving a big cheer there as Larry really muscles on the back of Dick.
03:13Big Queensland crowd.
03:15Big cheer at Lakeside here as the final heat starts to unfold.
03:18Dick Johnson in second position.
03:19Ingle trying to get a little break.
03:21Second of the Castrol Commodores.
03:22Larry Perkins in third.
03:23Lowndes in fourth.
03:24Jason Bright, he's up to fifth position.
03:27It's going to be interesting to see if Lowndes' and Jason Bright's tires
03:32go off the way they did in the previous heat.
03:35Just got a quick shot of Longhurst
03:36trying to force the inside issue there with Jason Bright.
03:39Hasn't worked, though.
03:40Bright still holding steady now.
03:41Longhurst tries to make a move as they go through Hungary.
03:43Great shot there as they climb out.
03:45Look at Lowndes' car.
03:46The enormous amount of grit that thing has got
03:48because it just lifts.
03:50It's the only car that lifts both the wheels off the ground every lap.
03:53We saw Lowndes running with the Dunlop pack
03:56in the opening laps of Heat 2,
03:58and he's quickly faded.
04:00Let's see if he can run with him this time.
04:03Russell Ingle leads him across.
04:04Johnson still in second.
04:05Perkins in third.
04:06Lowndes closing behind the Castrol Commodore in fourth.
04:08Then there's Jason Bright, Tony Longhurst,
04:10Stephen Richards in the Valvoline Commodore moving up.
04:12Mark Scaife in eighth.
04:14Paul Romano, the Queenslander, in ninth.
04:16And Stephen Allery rounds out the top ten.
04:17That's a great effort for Paul Romano, isn't it?
04:19Inside the top ten.
04:20Let's hope he can stay there.
04:21But Russell Ingle again is the quickest guy on the circuit.
04:24In fact, Dick Johnson also put in a very quick one
04:26that last time around.
04:27Craig Lowndes on screen now in the mobile HRT car.
04:30Back end getting very loose as he tries to stay with Larry.
04:33Well, this is the same thing that's happened in the previous race.
04:36Oh, that's Larry.
04:38Yeah, in the previous race, after four laps,
04:42he just heated up so bad that it was just, you know, no way out.
04:47I was going to say, Baz, this should be really interesting
04:49because at Lakeside, each car has eight tyres to play with.
04:52So you've basically got a fresh set for Heat 1,
04:54another fresh set for Heat 2,
04:56and then Heat 3 has to be a combination of your best tyres.
04:59It's going to be interesting to see if the Dunlop runners
05:01can maintain that consistency with second-hand tyres.
05:03It's usually where the Bridgestones come on strong.
05:05Stephen Richards has got his hands full with Mark Scaife.
05:07That's the battle for sixth and seventh.
05:09Jason Bright is also tangling with Longhurst.
05:11He's been able to hold him back there.
05:13Bright still in fifth, Longhurst remaining in sixth.
05:15They're starting to open up a little bit in the front
05:17between the top three.
05:19Ingle is looking comfortable
05:20and, again, is the quickest car on the track.
05:27Down through Hungary.
05:28Up they come, heading up towards the eastern loop.
05:30Well, if Russell Ingle remains where he is, he will win this round.
05:33There is the point score after two races.
05:35Ingle with a two-point buffer over Johnson.
05:37Perkins, Lowndes and Bright.
05:39And that's an out-of-jail effort by Craig Lowndes.
05:42He's done extremely well, considering where he qualified.
05:44Jones is in sixth position after two.
05:46Terry Finnegan, that's fantastic.
05:48He's up into seventh.
05:49Hilary Richards and Longhurst,
05:51that's in top ten after the first two races today.
05:55Tony Longhurst running a front-scorer borrow
05:57from one of the other teams.
05:58He had some damage in heat two.
06:01So the forward onslaught continues.
06:03They're really helping each other out here.
06:05It's been a bit of a drought for them lately.
06:07Forward AJ's retired, for some reason or another.
06:10Sir Alan Jones.
06:14Should take the opportunity, guys,
06:16while things are settling down,
06:18just a touch to get in a plug for our fantastic weekend,
06:21July 18 and 19 in the Northern Territory.
06:23If you're tempted for a trip up to the Northern Territory,
06:26make sure you get in touch with the Northern Territory Holiday Centre now.
06:291-800-621-336
06:321-800-621-336
06:34Book your holiday now
06:36and be a part of our first ever V8 Supercar meeting.
06:39There's the number on your screen right now.
06:411-800-621-336
06:43and be a part of that great weekend in the Territory.
06:46He's lapping the quickest at the moment.
06:49He was absolutely devastated after that clutch problem in heat two.
06:53Oh, they've got one around there,
06:54one of the winch Commodores, I think.
06:56Yep.
06:57Yes.
06:58Hossack.
06:59Hossack is having a shocker today.
07:01He's been having a number of big spins.
07:03Well, the instructions from team manager,
07:05team owner Fred Gibson was,
07:07you're three blokes, Ellery, Hossack and Pete,
07:09keep it on the track today and you'll do well.
07:11Unfortunately, we've seen the young guys have a few spins.
07:15Steve Ellery's going well, mind you.
07:20Let's have a look at that from another angle.
07:21Shell Helix Repair, yeah, it was Hossack right out on the rough stuff.
07:25And spinning around,
07:27keep it off the arm coat.
07:29Just a little kiss there,
07:31but doesn't look like it's too badly damaged.
07:32Hopefully he got going again.
07:34Uh, yep.
07:35Looks like he's missing from there now.
07:36So Hossack back into the race.
07:37Russell Ingle, meanwhile, in command.
07:39Johnson just slipping back a little bit now.
07:411.2 seconds the gap.
07:42It's just a tenth or two-tenths a lap.
07:45So Ingle doing what he did in heat three last year,
07:48just grinding them into submission.
07:51And the setup on that car,
07:52particularly with those tyres,
07:53working fantastically well in these difficult conditions.
07:56Thomas Mazera, top privateer,
07:57and he's sitting in 15th position as we take pictures.
08:01Riding shotgun with Dick Johnson.
08:02Here's the view out in the front.
08:04Pictures courtesy of Shell Helix.
08:06As you can see, it's pretty difficult
08:07as they come down the main straight here at Lakeside
08:09in terms of sun.
08:11There's your Shell Helix race score for you
08:12as they come through the kink at 250 kilometres per hour.
08:18I think the big thing out of that scoreboard there
08:19is Skate in 8th and Romano in 9th
08:22and Terry Finnegan in 10th.
08:24Great, great work by those three guys.
08:28Well, the Fords having a very strong run here today
08:31throughout qualifying in the opening heats,
08:33but Russell Ingle really turned the tables.
08:37Fantastic move on Johnson in heat two,
08:39to win heat two.
08:40Now looking very comfortable in heat three.
08:441.2 seconds the gap,
08:45still maintaining that over Johnson.
08:46Perkins in third.
08:47Lowns still in fourth.
08:50So positions remaining fairly static
08:52as we wind down round three.
08:54First time hole-in-one around here at Lakeside
08:57was back in 1996 when Craig Lowns
09:00absolutely cleaned up three wins from three starts.
09:03If Ingle remains where he is,
09:05he'll fly the flag high for Halton as well today.
09:08Fastest privateer at the moment is Thomas Mazera,
09:12leading the charge on the Yokohama Control tyre cars
09:15in the privateer category.
09:17Mazera's up to 15th at the moment,
09:19nipping away at the back of the leading bunch,
09:21so good drive from Thomas today.
09:23When you say nipping away at the leading bunch,
09:25how about John Bowell,
09:26from 29th to 10th.
09:28He is just cleaning them up.
09:30A 51.6 the last lap around,
09:33two-tenths of a second off the existing lap record
09:35set by Glenn Seaton,
09:36who incidentally is back in sixth position.
09:39Lowns is the extraordinary setup on that car,
09:42I can't believe it.
09:43It's exactly the same,
09:44all through qualifying, brakes, everything.
09:46The only thing that lifts like that.
09:48Two wheels right up off the deck.
09:50Nice little bunch here battling it out,
09:52Larry Perkins at the head of this bunch.
09:54Lowns, Jason Dryden,
09:56who has had a very consistent day.
09:58He's driven very sensibly.
09:59And Longhurst, who is tucking in there in sixth position.
10:03Interesting thing watching the Fords run around.
10:06There's a lot of customer cars,
10:08a lot of the privateers use Commodores,
10:10built by the Dencar company, I believe.
10:12Ford Motorsport are now doing a feasibility study
10:14on setting up a company to do the same thing,
10:16to build factory or customer versions of Falcons.
10:19So you might see some more Fords out there,
10:20amongst the privateer ranks before too long.
10:22Ford also bringing out a street version, Mark.
10:26Oh, Thomas Mazera gone.
10:28Oh, Thomas.
10:29See ya, Thomas.
10:30Well, that's a real shame.
10:31He was leading the privateers category.
10:33He was right up to 15th position.
10:36Now he's parked it out in the Sahara.
10:37He won't be happy.
10:39Getting back to what I was saying,
10:40Ford are bringing out a street version
10:42in terms of going head-to-head in the marketplace with HSV.
10:46The SVO range brought out by Ford.
10:48I had a ride in one the other day.
10:49The guys at Southside Ford here in Brisbane,
10:51they're nice vehicles too.
10:54They might give you one free,
10:55I have to say on that, Lee.
10:58So Eagle still pumping out 2.7 seconds,
11:00the gap over Dick Johnson.
11:02Larry Perkins in third,
11:03Craig Lowndes hanging on in fourth,
11:04Jason Wright in fifth position.
11:07Longhurst, Richard,
11:08Skate battling away there in eighth.
11:10Paul Romano is going well in ninth.
11:12John Bow in tenth.
11:13That's the big one to take note of there.
11:15Terry Finnegan is going great guns from Larkin.
11:17Faulkner, Barguana,
11:18and Thomas Mazera, of course,
11:20who we saw just run off.
11:22Seated back there, Darren Pate,
11:23Trevor Ashby, who is top privateer
11:26ahead of Paul Wheel and John Briggs.
11:37Welcome back to Lakeside
11:38as we have a look at the 17-shell Helix Ford
11:41of Dick Johnson who still sits in second.
11:44It's going to be a fantastic day for him
11:46if he can remain there.
11:47That's three seconds from three starts.
11:49It won't be enough, unfortunately,
11:51if things remain as is
11:52for him to take out the round
11:53because Russell Ingle has been going
11:55exceptionally well.
11:56Lap 15 of 23.
11:57We're starting to wind down
11:58under the Dunlop Bridge.
12:00Here we go.
12:02We have a look out the front
12:04and also Dick inside,
12:07and we have a look at the triple M telemetry.
12:08Speed on the left,
12:10RPM on the right.
12:13Someone's going out wide.
12:16It's a price attack.
12:17Commodore Kevin Heffernan.
12:20We saw Kevin earlier.
12:22Great win in the Privateers' Cup.
12:24He was so chuffed to win that one.
12:26He was so pleased.
12:28This is a great debut for the 17-shell Ford.
12:32We watched Dick Johnson circulating.
12:34Shows the level of refinement
12:35these teams have managed to build
12:37into these cars they've built.
12:38This is the eighth Falcon now to emerge
12:40from the shell stable.
12:42And according to Dick,
12:43the best you can get,
12:44some 30% stiffer in the chassis.
12:46You can see the amount of framework in there.
12:48Look at the intricate roll cage structure.
12:51Forms an integral part of the chassis
12:53to stiffen it up,
12:54make the car as responsive as possible.
12:56Dick actually said in qualifying
12:57he's actually having to modify
12:58his driving style a little bit
13:00because the car's so different.
13:01I think the difference in this team
13:03since the Kiwi engineer Murray Bunn
13:06has come on board
13:07has been exceptional.
13:10On to the main straight,
13:12Dick Johnson.
13:13He's still riding with him.
13:14Here's a right.
13:15The Fertec Falcon.
13:17Just shows you've got no margin for error
13:20with those front spoilers.
13:21As soon as they dig into the ground,
13:22you snap them off
13:23and they form a very important part
13:25of the aerodynamic package on these cars.
13:27Once that's gone,
13:28very difficult to drive.
13:29He was running in sixth position.
13:31Tony Longhurst managed to get past him.
13:33Now here is John Bauer
13:34on the back of Paul Romano.
13:36Through the kick.
13:37Now Romano,
13:39Bauer the outside run.
13:40Now I don't think young Paul's
13:41going to make it all that easy
13:42for him to pass.
13:43Well, this is the battle
13:44for ninth and tenth position.
13:45John Bauer trying to claw his way back
13:47and try and get as many points as possible.
13:49He really has had a shocking day
13:51when you think of the speed
13:52he showed in qualifying
13:53starting off the front row of the grid.
13:54It's all gone wrong for him.
13:55Clutch failure in heat two.
13:57Stop-go penalty.
14:00Now Romano's got eight.
14:01He's on the inside of Wright there.
14:02Okay, so Wright struggling
14:04with that broken front spoiler.
14:05Maybe some people wondering
14:06at home why that is.
14:07The spoiler stops the air
14:08flowing and building up under the car.
14:10Once that spoiler's gone
14:11it makes the handling
14:12very, very difficult.
14:13You might want to know
14:14what the little message
14:15on the back there is
14:16with Tom on Paul Romano's car.
14:18It was a young guy
14:19by the name of Tom Morey
14:20who unfortunately passed away.
14:22A victim of cancer.
14:24And he had saved
14:25and saved and saved his money.
14:27A young guy who was only
14:28ten years old I think
14:29and he donated the money.
14:30He wanted the money
14:31to go to the Romano team
14:32because they're an unsponsored outfit.
14:34So it was a lovely gesture
14:35from a lovely young guy.
14:38John Bale trying to find
14:39a way around Romano
14:40but Romano perfectly positioned
14:41on the approach to the carousel.
14:42Trying to make Bale
14:43go the long way around.
14:45That's always very, very difficult.
14:46Romano really feeling the pressure.
14:48Lights on on John Bale's car.
14:50I think...
14:51JB's fought his way back
14:52from the rear of the group.
14:54I think Paul made a bit
14:56of a muck up going through
14:57to King at that time
14:58and that's allowed JB
14:59to really catch him up a lot.
15:03The Romano car's got
15:04plenty of speed though, Baz.
15:05Oh yeah, it has, it has.
15:07It has, but it did just look like
15:09something was amiss
15:10going into the King.
15:11Have a watch this time.
15:21No, no problem.
15:22That time they definitely
15:23made up a lot of ground
15:24through there last.
15:25JB tries that outside line
15:26into the carousel
15:27but it's the long way around.
15:28He's giving Paul Romano
15:29the work over here.
15:32He's getting impatient.
15:33He's passed so many cars
15:35from 29th to 9th
15:37and he wants to get past
15:38Paul Romano
15:39and keep on going
15:40because he has got
15:41some laps to go.
15:42Four and a half laps remain
15:43in this third and final race.
15:44Round three of the
15:4598 Shell Australian
15:46Touring Car Championship
15:47here on Yohoma Motorsport
15:48Network 10
15:49and it's Mark Scape
15:50in the 50 mobile hold
15:51and racing team Commodore
15:53who sits 7th.
15:58He's never...
16:00He's never...
16:01I was talking to him
16:02after heat too.
16:03He's absolutely dripping
16:04with perspiration.
16:05He said,
16:06I've never worked so hard
16:07for so little result.
16:08I'll tell you what,
16:09he's very fit at the moment too.
16:10He's got to keep
16:11grinding away though
16:12because you've got to
16:13try and turn lemons
16:14into lemonade.
16:15Oh, seat turn.
16:16What a day Glenn's had.
16:17I mean,
16:18that's definitely
16:19one to forget.
16:20Oh, what if he kept...
16:21Oh, no, he didn't.
16:22He's nudged
16:23the armco.
16:24It definitely is
16:25a lousy lakeside
16:26mating for poor old Glenn.
16:27Can he get back
16:28this battle?
16:29Continues on.
16:30Romano and Bell.
16:32And young Paul Romano
16:33is not giving up.
16:35Here in front of his
16:36home crowd,
16:37the youngster from
16:38Springwood in Queensland.
16:41Top place privateer
16:42at the moment is
16:43Trevor Ashby
16:44in the Lansdale
16:45smash appears car.
16:46They've had a torrent on
16:47this week.
16:48Big crash on Friday
16:49fighting their way back.
16:50Oh, come on, come on.
16:51Oh, now Bell.
16:52Yes.
16:53Saw his opportunity.
16:54I'll just muscle
16:55my way through.
16:56It's the only way
16:58I tell you,
16:59he hit those curbs.
17:00They are so big.
17:01Yeah.
17:02It would be amazing
17:03if he hasn't done a damage
17:04or punctured the tyre.
17:05Just see how hard
17:06that right rear corner hit.
17:08Well, he's on a charge
17:09with three laps remaining.
17:10It is Ingle,
17:11Johnson, Perkins,
17:12Lowndes.
17:13Here's the replay.
17:14Watch the back right corner
17:15of the Shell Helix.
17:16Bell.
17:17Oh, that's...
17:19Very, very sharp edge
17:20to that curbing.
17:21And John just caught
17:22his right rear wheel on it.
17:24You can see the result.
17:26There's two incidents
17:27he's been involved in
17:28in that corner today.
17:29But he's a real fighter,
17:30John Bower.
17:31He knows what it's about,
17:32winning championships.
17:33You've got to be consistent
17:34and he will just be trying
17:35to screw every point he can
17:36out of this round
17:37and get down to Phillip Island.
17:38Here is our race leader,
17:39Russell Ingle.
17:40Let's not forget about him.
17:41It's been a great run
17:42by Russell.
17:43He won this race last year
17:45and I'm talking about
17:46the third one of the day.
17:47He's gone one better this year.
17:49And if he stays where he is
17:51for a couple more laps,
17:52he will have won
17:53two starts
17:54from two races
17:56from two starts.
17:57Well, this will be a big day
17:58for Russell Ingle
17:59if he can bring it home.
18:00If positions stay the way they are,
18:01this will move Ingle up
18:02into second place overall
18:04in the championship.
18:05Lowndes will still stay
18:06in the lead on 322.
18:07But that moves Ingle up
18:08to 286.
18:09Perkins up to 270.
18:11That moves Scaife now
18:12back to fourth position
18:13in the championship battle.
18:14So this is a very important day
18:15for Russell Ingle.
18:16And here's Paul Wheel.
18:17Paul, the young guy
18:19who was caught up
18:20in that incident earlier
18:21with Dick Johnson.
18:22And Ingle's got through
18:23on Paul, no problems.
18:25Yeah, that incident with Dick,
18:26there was no way
18:27that was Paul Wheel's fault.
18:28They were both, um,
18:29both innocent, really.
18:31It was a racing accident.
18:32One more lap to go
18:33here at Lakeside.
18:34Russell Ingle is sitting pretty.
18:35Dick Johnson's still
18:36in second spot.
18:37Those top four or five
18:39have spread right out.
18:40Now there's a good battle here
18:41with one of the Valvoline cars.
18:42That's Stephen Richards
18:43and Mark Scaife.
18:46Your privateer's scored board.
18:47Trevor Ashby
18:48in the Lansvale Smash Repairs car
18:50who sits 15th outright
18:51at the moment.
18:52He's your top-placed privateer.
18:53And Paul Wheel
18:54in second.
18:56Lights ablaze.
18:57Russell Ingle,
18:58last time through Hungry Corner.
19:00Up toward the Eastern Loop
19:01for the final time.
19:02And he will take
19:04great joy from this victory.
19:05Very trying conditions
19:06over the last three days.
19:07Blistering hot temperatures.
19:09And he's able to bring it home
19:10and repeat the form
19:11he showed here last year.
19:13Well, as I said earlier,
19:14just the one win here last year.
19:15Two wins from this round
19:17this year.
19:18Congratulations to Castrol
19:19Commodore driver,
19:20Russell Ingle,
19:21to hand out the window again.
19:22A repeat of Race 2.
19:24And he will be delighted.
19:25He will take out the round
19:26here as well.
19:27And a great way to start 98.
19:29He just plobbered them
19:31at the Australian Grand Prix
19:32support meeting
19:33winning every race this year.
19:35Of course, every race
19:36last year as well.
19:37And he was
19:38dominant here today.
19:39Number one.
19:40Good on you, Russell.
19:41That's funny.
19:42I said to him
19:43after heat two,
19:44I said, you really look like
19:45you enjoy winning.
19:46He said, well, mate,
19:47that's what we're here for.
19:48So he really loves
19:49the business.
19:50Loves the job he does.
19:52And very
19:54clearly showing us
19:55he is number one
19:56at Lakeside Diamond.
19:58Nick Johnson
19:59held onto that second spot
20:01in a great run
20:02and Larry Perkins third.
20:03So a great day for the
20:04Castrol Perkins outfit
20:06as they
20:07cruise on around.
20:09And Russell really loves
20:10the crowd interaction
20:11and the crowd response.
20:12He's enjoying his moment
20:13of victory at the moment.
20:14There's Alan Jones
20:15in the Castrol Ford.
20:17Rather, the Castrol
20:18Komatsu Ford.
20:20I'm just looking at
20:21our timing monitor
20:22back in 20th.
20:23So I'm not quite sure
20:24what happened to AJ
20:25because he was running
20:26quite strong earlier on.
20:28Russell Ingle
20:29bringing it down
20:30into pit lane
20:31and
20:32boy oh boy
20:33he is going to celebrate.
20:34There's our top
20:35privateer of the day
20:36and that is a great way
20:37to recover after Friday's
20:38accident.
20:39See the side of the car?
20:40That's not from today.
20:41That was from Friday's
20:42practice session
20:43where he went off
20:44the track backwards
20:45at 230 kilometres per hour.
20:46Knocked out
20:47unconscious
20:48after about
20:49four or so minutes.
20:50Had to go to hospital.
20:51He had a brain scan
20:52the whole bit.
20:53Talking about Trevor Ashby
20:55and his team mate
20:56and fellow driver

22:27a hard day's work.
22:28Well it was
22:29and you know
22:30to get your first
22:31and third
22:32Russell did a tremendous
22:33job up the front
22:34and you know
22:35the Castrol Commodores
22:36were really pressing on here
22:37and to split the
22:38Falcons of Dix
22:39on his home track
22:40I'm absolutely delighted
22:41about that.
22:42I say Russell
22:43was really charging there
22:44and you were going with him
22:45and there was plenty
22:46of pace from both cars.
22:47Oh yeah
22:48look the cars
