03:18Eight years since the arbitral award was issued in 2016, China still does not recognize it.

03:24One of the ways to strengthen it is the Philippine Maritime Zones Bill

03:30which was just signed by the President.

03:33It will establish the limits of the Philippine Maritime Zones

03:37and the rights of the country within it.

03:40We included the Philippine Maritime Zones in Palawan and the Philippine Maritime Zones in the Philippine Rise.

03:44Our rights and boundaries are clear.

03:48It is clear that we have a law where we can sail and fish.

03:54With that act, we're also now laying the groundwork

03:59for improving our law enforcement within these maritime zones.

04:05China has been pushing the so-called arbitral award

04:08because it is also included in the agreement between Panatagsol and Spratlys.

04:13According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry,

04:15their support is a direct negotiation between China and the Philippines.

04:20This is in line with the repeated arrangement on improving the Philippines-China maritime communication mechanisms

04:26that our Department of Foreign Affairs has signed.

04:29This will be given in different ways for the two countries to discuss maritime issues.
