00:00Hello. A fine day for most today. A hot spell for some coming up.
00:06This is the view from space. First thing, we did have some mist and fog patches across
00:10South Wales, southwest England. They're clearing away. The thickening cloud across the northwest
00:14will bring some showery rain to western Scotland and the west of Northern Ireland during the
00:19day. But for many, as I said, it's a fine day. Cloud is now bubbling up, so it's not
00:24blue skies far from it. But generally, dry and bright. The sun will come out at times
00:29and that will lift the temperature. It's certainly going to feel a bit warmer than it has done
00:33for most of this July as temperatures get up into the low 20s, maybe up to 24 degrees
00:38across the southeast. The thickening cloud will continue to move into Northern Ireland
00:43and western Scotland this evening. A bit more showery rain coming in here. And as we go
00:48through the night, that rain is likely to pep up a little bit. Some heavy bursts coming
00:52in, particularly for the west of Northern Ireland and the far west of Scotland during
00:56the early hours. You may see a few showers getting into the northwest of Wales, but for
01:00most places across England, Wales, southern Scotland, eastern Scotland, it's a dry night.
01:05Quite a warm night. Nothing too oppressive, but certainly quite a bit warmer than many
01:11nights have been through July so far. On to Thursday's details. And again, for most of
01:16England and Wales, it is a fine day, a little bit warmer than today as well. There will
01:20be some thicker cloud across west Wales, northwest England and a few showers in the
01:24morning. A different day there for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Certainly for Northern
01:27Ireland, rain on and off for much of the morning. It may ease off a little through the afternoon.
01:32Some heavy bursts of rain in western Scotland early on. Again, it should ease a little,
01:36but staying pretty damp here for most of the day. A few showers likely in southern and
01:40eastern Scotland, but mostly in the morning. I suspect much of the afternoon will be dry,
01:46but fairly cloudy. And it will be a cloudier day to the northwest of England as well. But
01:51further south and east after some early morning mist and fog, perhaps we'll see plenty of
01:56sunshine. And that's going to lift the temperatures widely into the mid-20s, 28s likely in and
02:00around the London area. Quite a bit cooler, though, for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:05Temperatures here 18, 19. Maybe a touch lower than that's where that rain persists on the
02:09west coast. And it's still there during Thursday evening. Maybe a few more showers just drifting
02:13over northern England and into north Wales. But much of the south and east will stay dry
02:18and fine. And that's thanks to this area of high pressure, which tries to hold on into
02:23the weekend. But eventually it gets worn down by weather fronts moving in from the Atlantic.
02:29And that's where we'll head as we go through into Sunday. Some uncertainty about the timing
02:33of the change, but certainly if we rewind the clock, high pressure allowing the temperatures
02:38to build through Friday and probably into Saturday as well. But this weather front will
02:44eventually usher in some cooler conditions by the time we get to Sunday. But certainly
02:49some high temperatures across eastern England during Friday and Saturday. More details on
02:54all of that, of course, if you follow us on social media and if you're watching on YouTube,
