00:45Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:50To begin with the news.
01:01In Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro denounced that the far-right incest on its plans against
01:06social peace.
01:07He forwarded a reaffirmed his call for a great national front against fascism.
01:11During a large rally of the Polyhedron of Caracas, the revolutionary forces joyfully
01:17received the president backing his candidacy and rejecting the unilateral U.S. sanctions.
01:23The candidates for the great patriotic pole thanked the people for their support to defeat
01:27the actions of the far-right and promised to continue working for their national welfare.
01:32Maduro also condemned the fascist plans of the right-wing domestic sectors that intended
01:37to sabotage the electric service and generate violence against the population for their
01:42personal interest of taking office.
01:52I have to defend peace, because of the threats that you know, some of them are openly known,
01:57and others are known to me, we know them, and we are 24-7 watching over peace because
02:01they have some goals, the electric war, the electric war is their target, and they have
02:06some goals in what they are going to do, which we won't allow them to do, but if they were
02:10to do it, it would be perhaps the worst mistake they could make, I tell you very clearly,
02:15they are the far-right wing, they are, as we call them.
02:19You know Diosdado, they are abusive, arrogant egocentrists, they believe at the world, arrogant
02:24is the word, they think that the world is their oyster, the ego of their last names,
02:29they think that they are the eighth wonder of the world, of the far-right world, so the
02:33world has to surrender at their feet, that time, that time won't come back to Venezuela.
02:40The National Electoral Council continues audits of the electoral machines with respect
02:44to software and hardware to ensure that there are no failures during the presidential elections
02:49on July 28th.
02:50The auditing process was carried out on Sunday at the Caracas Square headquarters.
02:55The entity stated that the objective is to check the vote counting system and its components.
03:00During the process, representatives of the political organizations and the electoral
03:04bodies and technicians verified that the machines were produced with the corresponding
03:09certification codes.
03:11The purpose of this audit is to verify the hardware and software as well as the data
03:16of the voting machines and technological solution tests to confirm their optimal operating conditions.
03:26Venezuelan presidential hopefuls continue campaigning ahead of elections.
03:30In this way, the Chavista forces continue to fine-tune their structure together with
03:35President Maduro.
03:36More details from our correspondent, Leonel Ratamal.
03:40With two weeks to go before the elections, the Chavistas continue to organize through
03:44the electoral mechanism called One Times Ten Times Seven, with which they seek to activate
03:49the entire Chavista base, leaders, sympathizers and militants.
03:55Well, we are oiling the machinery today to give on July 28th a resounding victory to
04:00the Bolivarian revolution and to the memory of our eternal commander, Hugo Rafael Chávez
04:05Frias, and above all to that man who has been loyal to the revolutionary people, the Chavistas
04:11and the Venezuelan people, which is President Nicolás Maduro.
04:16We're checking the One Times Ten Times Seven of each of the heads of the UBCH, of the unit's
04:20structure, of the CLAP, of communal councils, of street chiefs, and everything has been
04:24a success.
04:25Today we will be successful.
04:28President Maduro participated in the check-up day making face-to-face contacts with the
04:32organizations throughout the country to continue giving indications of the work that remains
04:36to be done.
04:37He also presented a book, a film and a television series on his figure and political struggle.
04:44Here we have only one objective, to defend the independence of Venezuela, to defend the
04:50homeland, and to make, as we are going to do, a revolution within the revolution, because
04:56we are going for more changes and more transformations that the people demand and that the people
05:02need.
05:03The former candidate Edmundo González held an event at the Central University of Venezuela
05:10in spite of the refusal of the authorities of the university and other university sectors.
05:14The rally was also criticized by candidate Antonio Carri, who called for the preservation
05:19of university autonomy.
05:20Instead, he proposed to hold a debate in its facilities.
05:24Candidate Enrique Márquez also registered activity on his social networks with proposals
05:29focused on encouraging participation on July 28.
05:33Let's vote.
05:34Vote for you, for your future, for your family.
05:38Your vote is power to change authority.
05:41Vote without fear.
05:42On the border state of Tachibana, the candidate for Arepa Digital, Denise Valles, delivered
05:47proposals to modernize the state.
05:50Thanks to new technologies, people can once again recover their capacity to decide.
05:55Enough of particular interests, enough of the interests of parties, enough of the interests
05:59of some elites to control the Venezuelan state.
06:02Candidate Luis Eduardo Martínez called for maintaining a climate of peace and dialogue
06:06beyond the results of July 28.
06:09But more important is July 29 and the days after, because it will demonstrate the maturity
06:14of the Venezuelan people and the capacity of the political leadership to understand
06:17each other for the sake of Venezuela.
06:19Venezuela cannot stand any more confrontation.
06:21It cannot stand any more fights.
06:23A great portion of the situation we are living in is the result of that sterile confrontation.
06:28Two weeks remain for Venezuelans to go to the polls to cast their vote and elect the
06:34next president.
06:37On Monday, Syrians go to the polls to elect the fourth legislature of the People's Assembly
06:42with authorities setting up 8,151 polling stations across the country's 14 provinces.
06:48This way, 1,516 candidates are running for the 250 seats in the National Assembly.
06:55The voting day will end at 7 p.m. local time and may be extended for a maximum of five
07:01hours in all of some polling stations.
07:04Elections happen despite calls for boycott and attempts to disrupt the process and prevent
07:09citizens from exercising their right to vote by terrorist groups and separatist militias
07:14in areas outside government control.
07:16Regardless, authorities were determined to hold the elections on their packed constitutional
07:21date without changes.
07:27On Sunday, the leader of the left-wing Communist Party of Nepal, Sharma Ali, got appointed

07:46Precisely, Ali won the appointment after banking on the support of 166 lawmakers, including

07:56It should be emphasised that the minimum number of seats needed in the 270-member House of

09:33never contributed despite having worked all their lives.
