00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:21We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the compassion, the mercy, and the love of
00:26God.
00:27Lord, have mercy.
00:30Christ, have mercy.
00:33Lord, have mercy.
00:36May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and
00:42life everlasting.
00:44Let us pray.
00:46O God, who show the light of your truth to those who go astray, so they may return to
00:51the right path, give all who for the faith they profess are accounted Christians the
00:58grace to reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ, and to strive after all that
01:04does it honor, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in
01:10the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
01:14Amen.
01:15A reading from the prophet Isaiah.
01:21Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom.
01:25Listen to the command of our God, you people of Gomorrah.
01:31What are your endless sacrifices to me, says the Lord?
01:35I am sick of holocausts, of rams, and of calves.
01:40The blood of bulls and of goats revolts me.
01:45When you come to present yourselves before me, who asked you to trample over my courts?
01:53Bring me your worthless offerings no more.
01:56The smoke of them fills me with disgust.
02:00New moons, sabbaths, assemblies, I cannot endure, festival, and solemnity.
02:07Your new moons and your pilgrimages I hate with all my soul.
02:13They lie heavy on me.
02:15I'm tired of bearing them.
02:18When you stretch out your hands, I turn my eyes away.
02:23You may multiply your prayers, I shall not listen.
02:28Your hands are covered with blood.
02:30Wash, make yourself clean.
02:33Make yourself clean, take your wrongdoings out of my sight.
02:38Cease to do evil, learn to do good.
02:41Search for justice, help the oppressed.
02:45Be just to the orphan, plead for the widow.
02:51The word of the Lord.
02:53Thanks be to God.
02:56To the upright I will show the saving power of God.
03:00To the upright I will show the saving power of God.
03:05I find no fault with your sacrifices.
03:09Your offerings are always before me.
03:11I do not ask more bullocks from your farms, nor goats from among your herds.
03:18To the upright I will show the saving power of God.
03:23How can you recite my commandments and take my covenant on your lips?
03:30You who despise my law and throw my words to the winds.
03:35To the upright I will show the saving power of God.
03:40You do this and should I keep silence?
03:43Do you think that I am like you?
03:46A sacrifice of thanksgiving honors me.
03:49And I will show God's salvation to the upright.
03:53To the upright I will show the saving power of God.
04:00The Lord be with you.
04:02And with your spirit.
04:03A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:06Glory to you, O Lord.
04:08Jesus instructed the Twelve as follows.
04:12Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth.
04:17It is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword.
04:20For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,
04:27a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
04:34A man's enemies will be those of his own household.
04:38Anyone who prefers father or mother to me is not worthy of me.
04:44Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me.
04:50Anyone who does not take their cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me.
04:57Anyone who finds their life will lose it.
05:00Anyone who loses their life for my sake will find it.
05:05Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me.
05:08And those who welcome me welcome the one who sent me.
05:14Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will have a prophet's reward.
05:21And anyone who welcomes a holy man because he is a holy man
05:26will have a holy man's reward.
05:30If anyone gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones
05:34because he is a disciple, then I tell you solemnly he will most certainly not lose his reward.
05:42When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples,
05:46he moved on from there to teach and preach in their towns.
05:56The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
06:02In the first reading the prophet is really saying to the people you have externals of religion,
06:09but you forget to love your neighbor.
06:12You oppress the poor and the orphan and so on.
06:16So God is saying what you are doing is not right.
06:21Come back to what really matters.
06:25Sacrifices are important, but if they are not sustained
06:30with reaching out to those in need, then they become worthless.
06:35And in the gospel today Jesus instructs his disciples
06:40quite strongly and then he goes out to teach the masses of the people.
06:46We who know Jesus in our faith are called to really know him by following
06:52and doing what he is asking us to do.
06:54And then we can reach out to others by our testimony of our living
07:00and hereby proclaim the good news of God's absolute love for people
07:05by the way we love more and more like God loves.
07:10Blessed are you Lord God of all creation.
07:12Through your goodness we have this bread to offer
07:14which earth has given, human hands have made.
07:17It will become for us the bread of life.
07:19Blessed be God forever.
07:39Blessed are you Lord God of all creation.
07:51For through your goodness we have this wine to offer.
07:54Fruit of divine, work of human hands.
07:56It will become a spiritual dream.
07:58Blessed be God forever.
08:09Let us pray brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours
08:13may be acceptable to God our almighty father.
08:15May the Lord accept the sacrifice on your hands for the praise and glory of his name.
08:26Look upon the offerings of the church O Lord as she makes her prayer to you
08:30and grant that when consumed by those who believe
08:33they may bring ever greater holiness through Christ our Lord.
08:37Amen.
08:40The Lord be with you and with your spirit.
08:43Lift up your hearts.
08:46Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:49It is truly right and just much more than a duty and good for our salvation
08:54always and everywhere to give you thanks father most holy
08:58through your beloved son Jesus Christ.
09:01Your word to whom you made all beings whom you sent as our savior and redeemer
09:06incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin
09:09fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people
09:13he stretched out his hands as he endued his passion
09:17so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection
09:21and so with the angels and all the saints who declare your glory
09:25as with one voice we acclaim
09:28Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts
09:33heaven and earth are full of your glory
09:36Hosanna in the highest
09:38Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord
09:42Hosanna in the highest
09:45You are indeed holy oh Lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore
09:50these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall
09:54so they may become for us the holy blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:59At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion
10:03he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples
10:09saying take this all of you and eat of it
10:12for this is my body which will be given up for you.
10:23In a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks
10:28he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it
10:34for this is the chalice of my blood
10:37the blood of the new and eternal covenant
10:40which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins
10:45do this in memory of me.
10:53The mystery of faith we proclaim your death on the road
10:58and profess your resurrection until you come again.
11:03Therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection
11:06we offer you Lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation
11:10giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:17Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ
11:20we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:24Remember Lord your church spread throughout the world
11:27and bring her to the fullness of charity
11:30together with Francis our Pope, me your unworthy servant
11:34Eugene our emeritus bishop
11:36all the clergy who serve your people and your entire family.
11:42Remember also our brothers and sisters
11:45who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
11:49and all who have died in your mercy
11:53welcome them into the light of your face.
11:56Have mercy on us all we pray
11:59with the blessed Virgin Mary mother of God
12:01blessed Joseph and spouse
12:04with the blessed apostles and all the saints
12:07who have pleased you throughout the ages
12:10we may through your grace be coerced to eternal life
12:13merit to be coerced to eternal life
12:16and may praise and glorify you
12:19through your son Jesus Christ.
12:26Through him and with him and in him O God Almighty Father
12:29in the unity of the Holy Spirit
12:31all glory and honour is yours forever and ever.
12:35Amen.
12:37At the Saviour's command and formed by divine teaching
12:40we dare to say
12:42Our Father who art in heaven
12:45hallowed be thy name
12:47thy kingdom come
12:49thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
