00:00Time for the Buffalo Bills team preview.
00:06Joe, listen, the fantasy black book,
00:08I honestly, I'm not, I don't get paid to say it.
00:10You don't ask me to say it,
00:11but I honestly think that you've changed
00:13the way people think.
00:14And that's all we can ask for in this day and age.
00:16When I look at this Buffalo Bills roster now,
00:19based off of how I've learned to think,
00:22given the black book,
00:24it's gonna be a tough season in Buffalo.
00:27Am I wrong?
00:29Look, last year, I sort of was poking around the idea
00:32that the window was getting closer,
00:33being shut for this Buffalo Bills team.
00:35I'm not the biggest Sean McDermott fan.
00:37You saw a change in the offensive coordinator.
00:39I was the only person talking about
00:42being concerned about Stephon Diggs
00:44as the season would go on.
00:45And I hate being the fortune teller of negative things,
00:50but that was the case.
00:51Stephon Diggs was dreadful.
00:54And I had knocked down drag out fights
00:56and the analysis was very simple,
00:57which is you don't get wide receivers
00:5910 years into the league that end up maintaining that pace.
01:02It starts to fall off at some point.
01:04And my point was,
01:05it was about time for the drop-off to happen,
01:08and it was inevitable.
01:09And you saw some of that other disconnect
01:11between the wide receiver and the quarterback growing
01:13in terms of tension.
01:15And we put those two things together.
01:16It was a no-brainer to fade Diggs going into drafts.
01:18Now, I looked really stupid
01:20the first six weeks of the season,
01:22but after that, looked pretty good.
01:24So Stephon Diggs is gone.
01:26Josh Allen remains.
01:27And Josh Allen last year had a phenomenal season.
01:30Let's be honest.
01:31In terms of touchdown equity,
01:33you can't ask for much more than he gave you.
01:35I mean, 15 rushing touchdowns, 29 passing touchdowns.
01:38The guy was brilliant.
01:40He's not my number one QB on the board though this year.
01:43And it's because I think this offense is in a transition.
01:46You look at this wide receiver core,
01:47Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, they drafted,
01:49who I think has some talent, but you have to be patient.
01:51I don't think he's the same level wide receiver
01:53of guys like Marvin Harrison and Malik Nabors
01:55and those guys, but I think he's got some talent.
01:58Is he ready to step in and be a number one
02:00in the NFL in rookie season?
02:02That's a big question mark.
02:03And I don't think the answer is unequivocally yes.
02:07Khalil Shaqir, nice player.
02:08You can play in the slot a little bit.
02:10Dalton Kincaid has a lot of upside in my opinion.
02:13And I think, you know, having watched him in college,
02:15Dalton Kincaid, you're just scratching the surface
02:17of what he can do.
02:19He's very talented.
02:19You can line him up in the slot.
02:21You can use him in different ways
02:22as kind of a weapon X kind of guy,
02:25but it's a transition, make no mistake about it.
02:28And you look around, I think the defenses
02:30in this division are still pretty darn good.
02:32And they're gonna be facing some tough defenses.
02:34You can't count on him having 15 rushing touchdowns.
02:37That's almost twice as many as he had ever in his career.
02:40That's gonna regress.
02:42Now I am bullish on the potential of Dalton Kincaid
02:44because that is somebody who could lead his team in targets.
02:48And at the tight end position, that's incredibly valuable.
02:51Volume is king.
02:53So if we can get Dalton Kincaid to get the bulk
02:54of this volume in this offense,
02:55he's gonna be a huge win for people in fantasy this year.
02:5980 receptions right now, 780 yards, five touchdowns.
03:02I think that's the baseline of projections
03:04you're looking at right now for him.
03:06I could see him going as high as having a 900
03:09or a thousand yard receiving season.
03:13Now, touchdowns might be trickier
03:14because when you get to the goal line area,
03:16you do have the option to big body,
03:19to Josh Allen, run the football in.
03:20And you do have James Cook in this backfield.
03:23And now another running back that you've brought in here
03:26that has some equity at the goal line, Ray Davis.
03:28And I think that's the guy you might see
03:30a little bit more of than you realize.
03:31From the Kinks?
03:32So Cook.
03:32Yeah.
03:33Yeah.
03:34Sorry, go ahead.
03:36Nobody watching got that except you and me.
03:38Thank you.
03:39Maybe one or two people.
03:40Although it is early on a Sunday morning watching.
03:42But I will say this, you have,
03:45and that's Ray Davies for the record.
03:47I know, but that's the pronunciation.
03:48I know, but you and I can make that joke.
03:51But James Cook had a really good finish to the season.
03:53Will that carry over?
03:54That's a question.
03:55We know the regression is going to be there from Josh Allen.
03:57We don't know any of these wide receivers
03:59are up to carrying the load.
04:00Do we see a version of Josh Allen
04:02all of a sudden becomes a really proficient passer
04:04to just whoever's open after spending
04:06the majority of his career,
04:08just forcing the ball to Stephon Diggs over and over again?
04:10A lot of question marks here.
04:12So it's not that I'm fading the bills altogether,
04:14but I'm still looking at Josh Allen coming back down
04:17a little bit from that number one spot,
04:19trying to maybe get through the growing pains.
04:21I think the biggest winner here potentially
04:23is Dalton Kincaid.
04:24But Matt, you're somebody coming back into football.
04:27I'm always in football and you're still in baseball mode.
04:29When you start to look at this roster,
04:31what are your thoughts?
04:32Well, like I said, at first I was concerned,
04:34but when I think about how the league has been going,
04:37at least in the last two seasons,
04:38it's high-end play becomes pivotal.
04:40So when you look at a team like Buffalo,
04:42you can either see that their offense is rebuilding
04:45or they are ahead of the curve
04:47because offering such a strong tight end set
04:50with the way that the game and the league is changing,
04:52like you said, I mean, some of those numbers
04:54are unheard of for the position,
04:56but when, to use your term, the Weapon X comes into play,
04:58now all of a sudden the entire game is changing.
05:02So maybe I'll pause on my expectations on Buffalo
05:06and listen to some things that you have to say
05:07a little bit more.
