00:26:18I want to introduce you to the first lady of my soul my beautiful mom Mary Lou Chacopoulos
00:26:25this is my better side mom you weren't mine you could teach me how to make one of my favorite
00:26:30greek foods spinach coffee that's easy do mom a favor though hon don't slouch
00:26:37anyway my mom has always been a fantastic cook oh I was an okay cook and then things happened

00:26:56by the way who doesn't know the most efficient way to wash your car you bring it to the car wash

00:27:21then some bad luck hit our family I lost my older son young and you know it's tough on a parent when

00:27:44the Baptist and I would put it right on the kitchen counter Saint John the Baptist is the
00:27:49saint that my brother was named after and the name Yanni when you translate it into English is John
00:27:54I would cook every greek recipe I could think of and I would look at that little icon of Saint
00:28:01John and I would say you take care of my Johnny Angel everybody loved my cooking Dimitri loved my
00:28:07cooking let me tell you something the key to a good span of polka dot is don't skimp on the olive oil

00:34:11is uh in our house there's a glass container and inside of it's something we call the stephano
00:34:19what is that the stephano are these two beautiful crowns that the priest takes and he places on the
00:34:25bride and the groom's heads when they get married oh lord our god crown them with glory and with
00:34:40once those crowns are on their heads he takes their hands and he walks them around the wedding
00:34:44table three times
00:34:48that walk it represents their first steps in life together
00:34:59in between those crowns you'll see a beautiful delicate piece of ribbon and my
00:35:06my grandmother she would always tell me that that ribbon it represents the
00:35:11the fragility of marriage it can easily be torn apart but if you take good care of it
00:35:19it'll hold those two crowns together forever and never be torn apart
00:35:26and the only time that that ribbon is supposed to be cut
00:35:30is when the bride or the groom passes away and they're buried with that crown
00:35:36i don't plan on that ribbon being cut until god calls one of us
