00:00Dude, it's so nice to have you in studio and to finally get to do this.
00:04It's been like a long time in the making.
00:05Yes, for sure.
00:06Been a fan for so long and it's been so fun to get to know you over the years
00:10and just watch your journey. It's been great.
00:12So how's your year been so far? How are you feeling about 2024?
00:152024 has been flying by.
00:17I cannot believe that it's end of June right now.
00:19It just blows my mind, but it's been it's been a journey.
00:22Like it truly has been the most volatile time of my life
00:24in the sense that it hasn't been all bad or all good.
00:26It's been like there are some days where I wake up
00:28and I feel like depressed, like I can't get out of bed.
00:31And then I have like the most amazing friends in the world
00:33and we just have a beautiful time.
00:34And then when everyone leaves, I'm back alone in my home
00:37and I'm just like so depressed.
00:39It's been so wildly like a roller coaster, but I'm learning a lot and growing a ton.
00:43So it's been it's been interesting to see that that growth.
00:47TT over here has seen it all.
00:48TT! Shout out to TT.
00:50So are you like a introvert or like extrovert for the most part?
00:54I'm so an introvert.
00:55Like I have pockets of being an extrovert like and whenever I'm like on stage,
01:00it's funny because anyone who sees me on tour,
01:02like I'll go from being completely reserved and quiet
01:05and just in my own zone to like this whole other animal comes out.
01:08I go on stage and I'm like this crazy thing and then I get backstage again
01:11and I'm just kind of like very mellow and to myself.
01:14And so yeah, I would say I'm mostly an introvert,
01:16even though the public probably sees introvert.
01:18I feel like it's way more common than we realize
01:20because like I feel that totally like whether it is people
01:22who are like from your TikTok,
01:24you look like you would be like that all the time or on the radio show.
01:27It's like, no, when I'm I need the decompression time, right?
01:30To come down and just like, I don't know, recharge.
01:33Yeah, for sure.
01:34But you kicked off a morning routine and you're feeling good.
01:37Yeah. What does that consist of?
01:38Like what's your morning routine look like?
01:39Yeah, it's right now I'm trying to get up at seven,
01:42which sounds like not that crazy, but I used to get up at five.
01:46So that's, you know, but anyways, I'll do 15 minutes of meditation,
01:4915 minutes of reading, typically like a psalm or something.
01:52And then I do 10 minutes of the Wim Hof breathing method.
01:55Have you ever done that? No, right.
01:57It'll change your well, we can't do it here.
01:58It takes 10 minutes.
01:59But yes, I mean, we could interview.
02:01Yeah. We guide people through a breathing meditation.
02:05No, but it's basically it's it's 30 rounds of huge breaths.
02:10And then you exhale and hold your breath for a minute,
02:12and which seems hard, but it's actually not at all.
02:14And you literally feel like can I say that you feel like you're high?
02:17Yeah. You literally feel insane.
02:19But it's completely natural.
02:21Oh, wow.
02:21And then I do five minutes of walking the little guy Woody and gratitude
02:26out loud, just sort of, you know, pondering the things I'm grateful for.
02:30And then I do like a little journal.
02:32Have you heard of The Artist's Way?
02:34She does that morning pages, which is three pages of just like vomiting,
02:38which helps me so much.
02:39And by the end of that, like 90 minute routine, I feel like Superman, bro.
02:43I'm like on a whole different level.
02:44I feel so clear, so sharp.
02:46And then any like stresses that come up throughout the day,
02:48just kind of they don't knock me over as much.
02:50Yeah, it's a productive 90 minutes when you explain that.
02:52I'm like, hey, this dude's doing this for two hours.
02:55But that's that's amazing.
02:57I love that.
02:58And you've been on the bowl.
02:58I've been watching your stuff, man, over at Saddle Ranch.
03:02You're pretty good at that.
03:03I was pretty terrible, actually.
03:05I did not last very long at all.
03:06Well, you were tech talking during it.
03:07So it's kind of hard to stay on the bowl there.
03:10My legs were in a lot of pain.
03:12Oh, no.
03:13I was like actually in so much more pain than I anticipated.
03:15And it was actually kind of embarrassing because everyone was like laughing at me
03:18and like it's fine because, you know, I'm doing it, you know.
03:20Yeah, it's for the bit.
03:21For the bit.
03:22But it was weirdly like kind of embarrassing to just have like 50 strangers
03:26just like cackling at you.
03:28Yeah, what weekday was that?
03:30Was it a weekday or weekend?
03:32A Wednesday.
03:32Yeah, so that's a tough crowd.
03:33Yeah, it's like 50, 60 year olds.
03:35Totally.
03:36Well, also someone like asked for a photo like right before I went up
03:39and I wasn't in the suit yet.
03:41They asked for a photo.
03:41I was like, I'm about to be on the bowl in a disco suit.
03:44So stay tuned for that.
03:45It's like a show.
03:46Yeah, part of the attraction.
03:47It's great.
03:48But it's all for the song, obviously, and it's so good to have new music
03:52from you out.
03:53Like how you feeling about this work you're putting out right now?
03:55Dude, I seriously could not be more excited for this album and just the
03:59music.
04:00I had a moment when we were finishing up the album where I kind of was
04:03like, even though it's taking me like four or five years to do this album,
04:07I was like, it's actually been so worth the wait because I went through
04:10so many seasons of trying to find my sound and figure it out and work
04:12with different people.
04:13And I've worked with a lot of wonderful people, but I kind of landed
04:16with Jeremy Hatcher and Tommy English who, you know, Jeremy did the
04:19last two Harry Styles albums.
04:21Tommy worked with Bournes and did a lot of their stuff, Electric Love,
04:24which is like one of my favorite songs ever.
04:26And so we kind of found this sort of dynamic trio, I guess, and it's
04:31just been a beautiful journey to, you know, really define the sound.
04:34And I feel like what's cool about the album is like each song kind of
04:37has a different genre and goes in a different lane.
04:39You know, it's not all the same beat.
04:41It's like it's all not beat.
04:43It's not all the same lane.
04:45Yeah, exactly.
04:47But what is also cool is while there are all these different lanes,
04:50it does follow a storyline and, you know, it accidentally did that.
04:54Like I kind of put them all together and realized like each song is
04:57following this thread.
04:58And so it tells a whole complete story while each song being unique.
05:01So, couldn't be more excited.
05:02That's awesome.
05:03Yeah.
05:03I love that too.
05:04I just, albums in general, like they're underappreciated now with all
05:07these storytelling, but people like Billie Eilish who like say, you know,
05:10it is an album.
05:11You got to listen to it like this.
05:12Is that kind of how it's set up for you?
05:13A hundred percent.
05:14Listen to it all the way.
05:14I hope people listen start to finish and I hope if anyone's like knows
05:18who I am, but maybe hasn't listened to music, if they're going to
05:20listen to anything, I just hope it's this album, you know, so yeah.
05:24Amazing.
05:25So when you find that group like your people, how big of a difference
05:27is it like for your creative process?
05:29Bro, literally it's like night and day because I feel like before I
05:33was taking music so serious and I was just, I had coffee with a friend
05:36the other day.
05:37I was like, it's deep, but it doesn't have to be serious, you know,
05:39like you're allowed to, you know, go to the depths, but don't take
05:43it so seriously and we sort of just like hung out for 95% of the
05:47time and then 5% of the time was making music and the best music
05:51I've ever made came from just like we just nonstop are making jokes.
05:54We'll be in the middle of cutting a vocal and we're just like goofing
05:57around for like an hour and then we're like, maybe we should get
05:59back to actually working, you know, I feel like that's where like
06:01the best stuff comes from.
06:02So it's just a completely different creative process and really
06:06just taught me like we're making music here, you know, you should
06:08have fun, you know, and some days it is deep and serious or whatever,
06:11but it's like we're mostly just like making music.
06:14So just chill and have a good time and then the music will follow.
06:17So it's amazing pretty July 26th.
06:19It's officially here.
06:20Yes, right.
06:21And I mean, I'm just so excited for you.
06:23What are you most excited for your fans to kind of take away from
06:26the album?
06:27Yeah, I think there's again, there's songs like Cherry Blossom,
06:31which are more like fun and sort of bright and easy, but then there's
06:35songs like Mirror where I kind of it's, you know, it's a lot about
06:38the addictions that I've been through and just like the struggles
06:41that I face and sort of not being able to recognize myself in the
06:43mirror.
06:44But then I also have a song Look How Far You've Come.
06:46I guess I'm kind of giving away a lot of the tracks.
06:48I was going to say like I have the list and I was like, I want to
06:50talk about these, but you've already mentioned like half.
06:53So I think we're good to go.
06:54Like Look How Far You've Come is sort of a love letter to my younger
06:57self of like and also to my current self of like when you're struggling
07:00when you can't see the light.
07:01It's like look how far you've come and let that be your motivation
07:03for like if you got this far you can keep going.
07:05And so there's a lot of different themes and messages, a lot of
07:08heartbreak, a lot of romance, all that in between, you know, so
07:11it kind of just covers a spectrum.
07:13But I don't know if there's a central theme for Takeaway other
07:15than, you know, look how far you've come and let that be your
07:18fuel for the future.
07:19And then obviously the title The Golden Years.
07:21Like what are the golden years mean to you?
07:23Oh man.
07:23I mean, I think, you know, the last four or five years have been
07:27equally the most beautiful and like growthful years of my life and
07:33also the most difficult and hopeless and painful, you know, and so
07:36it's like it's not like The Golden Years is necessarily like, oh
07:39everything's daisies and roses.
07:41It's like, no, it's actually been very difficult, but also the
07:44most rewarding years of my life.
07:45And so it's like, you know, I'm pretty young, you know, and it's
07:48like just trying to soak in this while you have it and really
07:51appreciate what you got and, you know, live in the moment as much
07:55as possible because you're only going to be in your 20s once, you
07:57know, but I also think, you know, there's songs like Circles, which
08:00again, I'm giving away song titles, but here we are.
08:02There's songs like Circles.
08:03All right, fine.
08:04We'll play them all.
08:04Yeah, it's more like a Fleetwood Mac vibe, you know, that I think
08:09will speak to a lot of the older generations and so it kind of
08:13like goes the whole gamut.
08:15Is that the word gamut?
08:16I don't know words.
08:17I was homeschooled.
08:18The gamut.
08:18Gauntlet?
08:19No, definitely not gauntlet.
08:20Sorry.
08:21The whole gauntlet.
08:22Guillotine.
08:24Guillotine is great.
08:25Guillotine.
08:25Yeah, that's not right either.
08:26Guillotine, man.
08:27No, I always think of that The Office quote where it's like, I wish
08:29you knew you were in the good old days before you left them.
08:31Yes.
08:31I think about that all the time.
08:33Wait, that's good.
08:33I gotta post that in a carousel.
08:35TT, make a note of that.
08:36Yep.
08:36I gotta put that screenshot.
08:38It's just like a team meeting right now.
08:39We're just going over the tracks.
08:41Brainstorming.
08:41All right, make this TikTok real quick, but you know, it's so true
08:44because like every time that it feels tough and hard and all that
08:48and then you look back in like a year or two, you're like, that
08:50was actually so nice and so fun and unique experience.
08:53So it's all about having that perspective, right?
08:55100%.
08:56Yeah.
08:56And I think we also live in like such a time of very much like
08:59go, go, go, and it's the next thing.
09:00We're always either numbing out on social media or we're looking
09:03for the next biggest thing and we are always chasing instead of
09:06just like, you know, yes, you want to pursue things and you
09:09want to grow and you want all that stuff, but also realizing
09:11like this is the golden years.
09:12Like this is it.
09:13You know, you're gonna look back in your 90 and be like, dang,
09:16I'd give anything to go back and be here.
09:18Damn, my screen time was eight hours a day.
09:19Dude, for real.
09:20It's like, you know, this is your life.
09:23Like you're missing it, you know, and I think I need that
09:24reminder all the time.
09:25Let's go outside, man.
09:26Why are we doing this?
09:26Let's go roll around in the grass.
09:28Come on, buddy.
09:30What is the, oh gosh, what was I going to say?
09:33Something about, oh, no, I lost it.
09:36Man, I'm just all motivated now by this.
09:39Thinking of like motivational quotes and always good to ponder
09:43those.
09:43Yeah, always good to ponder.
09:46Well, since you've given so much stuff about the album out,
09:48can we talk about, you only have one feature?
09:50I have one feature.
09:51Can we talk about it?
09:52Well, let's do it.
09:53Might as well.
09:53Tell me about why this is the only feature.
09:55Well, it's funny because I wasn't sure I was going to do
09:59a feature.
09:59Like I wasn't seeking out a feature.
10:01I just, my friend Jenna Rain, she's just the sweetest person
10:05in the whole entire world.
10:06Like literally the purest heart I think I've ever met.
10:08She's insane.
10:08And we were just like, we should write together.
10:11And so we got together a little crew and we weren't sure if
10:14it was for her, for me, or we were just writing a song because
10:16sometimes you write a song and someone else around the world
10:18gets it, you know, you don't even see it.
10:19So we were just kind of writing to see what comes out and
10:22kind of came up with these piano chords and then I'm writing
10:25and she started writing.
10:26We realized that there might be like a dual perspective to
10:28the song that is not just singular.
10:30And so we kind of wrote, started writing with that and we
10:33were like, wait, is this like a duet?
10:34We kind of discovered it in the middle of it.
10:36And so we ended up recording the song and realizing like
10:39it's one of my favorites on the album.
10:40And again, Jenna's just the best and so it's a very special
10:43song and our entire friend group is like obsessed with it
10:45because we have a lot of mutual friends.
10:47And so anyways, it just kind of stuck with me and it's been
10:49with me for about a year and then we ended up just, you know,
10:51putting it on the album.
10:52But it's so exciting and Jenna's just the best.
10:54That's so cool.
10:55Well, shout out to Jenna.
10:55Can't wait for everyone to hear it.
10:56Jenna Rain.
10:57Actually, technically not the only collab.
11:00Your dog is on the album too.
11:03Yes.
11:03Thank you for bringing that up.
11:04Please tell me everything.
11:05Yeah, so when I was recording the piano for Mirror, Woody
11:08was sitting by my side because he knows when I'm not well
11:10and that song is a very deep and emotional song.
11:13And so he hopped up on the bench and he was sitting next
11:15to me and like the last chorus, I think he shook his collar
11:19and they were gonna take it out like because you can EQ it
11:22out or whatever and I was like, no, we have to keep it in
11:24like I want Woody to be a part of this.
11:25So he's credited as the collar percussionist.
11:32New instrument debuted.
11:33Woody Bassett, if you check the credits on Wikipedia, he
11:35should have his credits in there.
11:37You need to get one of those like portraits of him in a
11:40little suit and just like, you know, submit it.
11:42He was in a photo shoot.
11:44I did a photo shoot the other day and brought him and he
11:45kept hopping in the photos.
11:46So I think he's going to be in a magazine soon too.
11:48So he's in the limelight.
11:50He loves it.
11:50I know.
11:50He just wants to be a part of it.
11:54If you had to say, because I feel like it probably changes
11:56so much for you.
11:56What's your favorite song on the album?
11:59If you had to pick one that's like close to your heart,
12:01you're loving it.
12:02I know it can change at any time.
12:03It literally changes every day.
12:04Like there's times when like I can't stand certain songs
12:07and then there's times when I'm like, wait, this is actually
12:09my favorite.
12:10I mean, I think, first of all, when is this interview
12:12coming out?
12:12Just so I know.
12:13Gosh, tomorrow.
12:14No, I'm joking.
12:15When is it going to come out?
12:17Well, I just don't know when, if the tracklist will be
12:18announced yet, but I think we're going to announce it
12:20on Monday.
12:21Okay, it'll be after Monday.
12:22Okay, well then great.
12:24But so I'll say like this song, Little Rita, I wrote for
12:27my friend Rita, whose house burned down and I was in the
12:31studio that day and I was like in between calls with her
12:33just like trying to, you know, comfort her and I was like,
12:35what words could I possibly say?
12:36Like, how could I help you?
12:37Like, what do you tell someone whose childhood home just
12:39burned to the ground?
12:40Like it's just very hard to help them in any way.
12:43You can't really give them much.
12:44And so I literally just wrote this song and it was probably
12:47the quickest song I've ever written, like less than 10 minutes,
12:49just like vomited out this song and I was able to just tell
12:52the story of it happening and sort of the whole theme is
12:54like, I know this, you know, the chorus is, I know this
12:56life isn't easy, but you know that I'll be right here.
12:58You know that love's all you need, dear, and someone who
13:00can dry your tears and it's like, I know your house burned
13:03down, but everything's going to be all right, you know, and
13:05so that song is just a good anthem for me and I just come
13:09back to that song a lot.
13:10But it's definitely, I think, an underdog of a song because
13:13like people don't kind of look past it, but it's one of my
13:15favorites and one of the ones that's special to me.
13:17So, but yeah, I can't pick, bro.
13:18Like it changed everything. Circles, I come back to that.
13:21I'm like, damn, I used to hate that song when I first made
13:23it. I couldn't, I thought it was so dumb and my team was
13:27like, no, you have to listen to this and I came around to
13:28it and I'm like, shoot, like there's actually something cool
13:30to this.
13:30So I really couldn't pick a favorite.
13:32Sorry.
13:32No, all good.
13:33All good.
13:34And when you think about, I mean, I'm thinking about how
13:36long it's take to like, you know, build this album, four
13:39to five years, like you mentioned.
13:41Do you do a lot of tweaking?
13:43Are you still tweaking?
13:44All I do is tweak.
13:45It's funny, even like yesterday, so, you know, last night
13:47my song Dance With Tears, my eyes came out when this was
13:49recorded.
13:50It was last night and I was listening to it on the speakers
13:54and I was like, shoot, the bass in the chorus isn't loud enough.
13:56That's what would drive me nuts.
13:57Dude, I'm telling you, I can't do it.
13:58I can't do it.
13:59I'm literally forever.
14:00I'm like, but my A&R always says, he's like, that's a good
14:03sign of an artist.
14:04That means you're growing.
14:04That means you're constantly, your ear is evolving and you're
14:07able to like, always want to make it better and that's just
14:09the process.
14:10So I'm trying to like, just let go of that, but there's
14:12definitely always that tweaking, you know, and like the first
14:15song on the album I wrote four years ago, the last song on
14:18the album I wrote four years ago, and then everything else
14:20was kind of in between that.
14:21And so that song, Biting My Tongue, the first track, I've
14:25carried with me for years and it just hasn't been right and
14:27they wanted to put out Cherry Blossom four years ago and it
14:30just didn't feel right to me.
14:31And so I just had to make sure that it was right.
14:32So yeah, it's definitely a constant tweak, but again, it's
14:35cool finding these producers because I feel like the gap between
14:37what I hear and what I create is just like, it's completely
14:40reduced now, whereas before there's always that gap between
14:43like, oh, I picture this in my mind, but it doesn't really feel
14:46like it's coming out like that.
14:47I finally feel like that gap is pretty much closed.
14:49So it's pretty cool.
14:50We always hear artists talk about that, like when to let a
14:53song go or when to know it's done and move on, but everyone's
14:56answers are different.
14:57When do you know it's done?
14:58You don't.
14:58I mean, my old A&R, Nate Albert, shout out to Nate.
15:01I love Nate.
15:02He signed me.
15:04He always talks about how sometimes you need a deadline, like
15:08sometimes if you don't have a deadline, you're just never going
15:10to do it.
15:10Oh, tell me about it, man.
15:11I'm in the bed scrolling.
15:12Exactly.
15:13Yeah, that's like, you know, the Beatles talk about, Paul
15:15McCartney was saying like, because they had such a crazy
15:18schedule, that's why the music was so good because they didn't
15:20have time to overthink it.
15:21They just had to do it.
15:22They had two weeks to create an album and they would create
15:25Sgt. Pepper, you know, in two weeks because there wasn't all
15:28this tinkering and all this stuff.
15:29It was just like, go with what feels right.
15:31Obviously, you got to work to make it good, but like, don't
15:34overthink it.
15:34And so I'm trying to get into that space now where like,
15:36hopefully the next album doesn't take four or five years, you
15:39know, hopefully they'll just like be more able to trust my gut
15:41and everything.
15:41And so sometimes I think having too much time actually drives
15:44you insane.
15:44So I think the answer is just have deadlines.
15:46Yeah, leave the collar in.
15:48Every collar.
15:48There's a collar in every song.
15:49He's now an executive producer.
15:51The mixer actually took out the collar when we sent it off to
15:54mix and we like had to call him.
15:56We're like, dude, put that back right now.
15:57Like that.
15:59He's barking uncontrollably right now.
16:00He knows that you took that out.
16:01He's pissed.
16:03That's awesome.
16:04So his music, obviously, it's a huge part and a huge moment for
16:06you to have this album finally coming out and the tour.
16:09I mean, congrats on the announcement for that.
16:11Thank you.
16:12Gosh, what are you looking forward to most for the tour?
16:14Yeah, I mean, I think it's just the most immediate way to like
16:17bring joy and just to celebrate with people and it's such a
16:22connection, you know?
16:23Like when people know my lyrics better than me, that's always
16:25like shocking to me.
16:26People bring collars.
16:27I'm just waiting for it.
16:28Yeah, right.
16:29Collars and cowboy hats.
16:30I think we're going to see a lot of this time.
16:31But yeah, again, it's just like to unite with people and just
16:35share in love and be able to speak life over people and just
16:38bring joy and I don't know.
16:40It's just my favorite thing in the whole freaking world.
16:43So I'm very excited to get back out there.
16:44And yeah.
16:45Music's such a strong focus, obviously, is acting in like
16:48your back of your brain.
16:49Are you doing anything else?
16:50It's definitely happening.
16:51Yeah, there's a lot of stuff sort of cooking and my fans are
16:54going to roll their eyes because I always say that there's stuff cooking.
16:56Yeah, we're used to it.
16:57I see you're staring at me.
17:01There's been a lot of times where like, you know, there's a
17:04project that comes up that I just don't feel right about
17:06spiritually and my team's like, this is a great thing.
17:08And I'm like, but I just don't feel right about it for XYZ
17:12reasons.
17:12And so there's been a couple things that I've been like passing
17:15on and trying to figure out.
17:16I don't even know why I'm saying this in the interview.
17:18Maybe we should cut this out.
17:20But my point is like, I think I care very much about where I
17:23spend my time because there's so many different things I'm
17:24trying to do.
17:25So for me, it's not about like, do I want to act?
17:27It's about when the right project sort of shows up.
17:30Like, will I lean in?
17:31So I think we're just, there's something I'm working on right
17:33now that I can't say anything about, but very, very, very,
17:35very, very excited about that.
17:36We already talked about the whole track list.
17:38You might as well just keep it rolling.
17:41No, I'm happy for you.
17:42And it's so great to have that mindset, obviously, because you
17:45don't want to just say yes to everything and then it means
17:47nothing, you know?
17:47Totally.
17:48And then I love, I'm just checking on all the bases with
17:50you because it's, you know, we love getting updates.
17:52I love how, you know, you opened up a little bit about your
17:55faith more in that time kind of off.
17:57What was the decision there and just like, you know, how's
18:00that journey been?
18:01Yeah, for sure.
18:02I mean, it's been, you know, some people think I lost my
18:04mind. Some people think I was brainwashed.
18:06Some people think that, you know, a lot of different things
18:09and I get that because I, you know, when it comes to like
18:12Jesus, I was so against that and I thought everyone who
18:15followed him was crazy and wrong and whatnot.
18:17And then I had like literal personal encounters with Jesus
18:20like insane, life-changing stuff that like the peace that
18:24I was looking for.
18:25I was reading all these books and trying to find like that
18:28answer to life and why are we here and looking for that love
18:31and every single time I felt like I was getting progress,
18:33but I was actually reaching a dead end and I was even more
18:36and more depressed and more and more addicted and I fell
18:37into these like holes and I just wasn't feeling that peace
18:40until I literally had the most insane encounter with Jesus
18:43ever. And then I finally felt the peace that I was always
18:46looking for and so it wasn't like somebody told me, you
18:49know, about God and I just fell into the belief because
18:52I was convinced.
18:53I had to know for myself and God showed himself to me and
18:56I literally experienced his peace.
18:57And so that has just radically changed everything.
19:00And are you a man of faith or?
19:01Okay.
19:02Okay.
19:02I figured that's why you brought it up.
19:05Actually, yeah, we get into a whole debate.
19:07Yeah.
19:08I got some, no.
19:09Yeah, absolutely.
19:10So yeah, it's just nice to see, you know, and a different
19:14side, but also like it is you.
19:15So we love seeing those things, you know, and just learning
19:18more about you and all that.
19:19So for sure.
19:20And I'm trying to find the balance too because I get some
19:22people are like keep it to yourself.
19:23I don't want to hear it because that was how I was, you know,
19:25anytime my dad tried to talk to me about Jesus, I would roll
19:27my eyes and I didn't want to talk to him on the phone.
19:29So I get that but it's also kind of like when you find
19:32peace and happiness and you find like what you truly believe
19:35is the answer to so much.
19:36It's hard to keep that to yourself and not want to share
19:38that with people.
19:39And so I'm trying to find the balance of like sharing my
19:41faith in a way that people don't feel like is attacking
19:45them or is trying to tell them they're wrong, but more inviting
19:47them into the love that I've experienced through God, you
19:50know, and so that's what I'm trying to navigate right now
19:52is like how do I just love people well and, you know, point
19:55to it.
19:56And it's just being an example, right?
19:57Like because people will just gravitate towards you anyways
20:00and become genuinely curious about like, wow, what makes
20:02you so happy or how are you so, you know, at peace and then
20:05you kind of get to bridge that gap, at least in your eyes.
20:08So what's your For You page look like?
20:10I'm so curious what you're scrolling and what you're being
20:12served.
20:13Dude, lately it's been like, I feel like my algorithm is
20:15like showing me videos with like zero likes.
20:17Like I'm getting, what is anyone else?
20:19Like totally, me too.
20:20I'm like, that's interesting.
20:21I don't know why, what's going on.
20:23I feel like the algorithm every now and again, they do weird
20:25stuff with that, but it's all over the place, bro.
20:27I mean, I honestly want to find out how to diversify my
20:30For You page because I feel like there's no way to like truly
20:33seek out, like, you know what I'm saying?
20:35Like it just kind of shows you what it thinks you want to
20:36see, but I feel like I'm not on like cook talk enough.
20:39I'm not on book talk enough.
20:40You will now.
20:41Yeah.
20:42Cook talk.
20:42Dude, the other day, I literally, I'm telling you, me too.
20:45Bro, it's scary.
20:46Or you get served an ad and you're like, how?
20:48Dude, like it is uncanny.
20:50Like I've never looked up anything.
20:52I forget what it was, but I said something the other day
20:55that I've never looked up ever on my phone.
20:56And like I saw a video with like no likes, that was like
20:59in regards to that.
21:00I was like, okay, that's freaky.
21:02Like it is pretty freaky, but they're always listening, but
21:05we love them and we're thankful for all that they've done.
21:08Glad you're not banned.
21:10I'm sure you'll get some cooking videos right when you wrap
21:11up. You know what I love?
21:14I'm trying to like include some games here while we're here.
21:16Have you seen the word association thing on TikTok where
21:19we both say a word and then it's our job to say a word that
21:25is related to both, but it's the same word at the same time.
21:27Yeah.
21:27So like if I said Coca-Cola and you were like whale and then
21:31we're like, okay, how do we find the word?
21:32And we're like ocean.
21:34I don't know if it makes no sense.
21:36Ocean.
21:36Perfect.
21:37No, I get it.
21:37I get it.
21:38I just thought that example was amazing.
21:39So this is gone terribly.
21:41No, every last time.
21:42No, let's try it.
21:42Let's make it good.
21:43Think of a word.
21:44Think of a random word.
21:46Let's do.
21:47Yeah, ready?
21:48Okay, three, two, one.
21:50Volleyball.
21:52Bunny and volleyball.
21:54What would it be?
21:56What would that possibly be?
21:57Come on.
21:57Bunny.
21:57What is a bunny?
21:58Oh, yeah.
21:58Yeah.
21:58Okay, we go.
21:59Yeah.
21:59Three, two, one.
22:00Jump.
22:01Let's go.
22:02That's the show everybody.
22:02How about we rhyme a word until we can't anymore?
22:05Okay, okay.
22:07Throw me a word.
22:08Why don't we rhyme until we can't anymore?
22:10Yeah, let's just start a diss track.
22:11Rapid bar.
22:13Can we get a beatbox?
22:14Yeah, bar.
22:16Mars.
22:18Fart.
22:21That's terrible beatboxing.
22:22I sound better.
22:22It's too far apart.
22:23What's like the rhythm?
22:24Should we just like?
22:25Cars.
22:26Bars.
22:27I already said bars.
22:30This is going so good.
22:31These games.
22:31Here we go.
22:33Here, let's get the beat.
22:35Stop.
22:36Cop.
22:37Mop.
22:38Drop.
22:38Lock.
22:39Plop.
22:40Lock?
22:41I was going to pop lock and drop it, you know?
22:43Right, right.
22:44Anything I missed that you want to like fill the fans in on
22:46about life and work?
22:49I guess all I would say is I hope that they know that love
22:52is the only reason that we're here and that God loves them
22:55and that I love them and I hope they don't take it all too
22:58seriously because it's easy to get carried away in the
23:01nonsense and the noise, but you know, go outside, take off
23:04your shoes, sit in the grass, get some sun.
23:08This is the worst advice ever.
23:09It's so chaotic and all over the place.
23:11Listen to pop lock and drop it by Huey.
23:12Listen to High School Musicals.
23:15Status quo.
23:17Why not?
23:18And the album will be here July 26th.
23:21And the tour.
23:21Why not?
23:22And the tour, album, tour.
23:24The song's out now.
23:25And yeah, hope you enjoy.
23:26Some acting project that we will find out soon.
23:28Mysterious acting project.
23:30It's coming.
23:30So mysterious.
23:31Thanks, dude.
23:32It's great to see you.
23:33Thank you, bro.
23:34Thanks for stopping by the show.
23:34Thanks for having me.
23:35It's a dream to finally do this.
23:36Yes, it's only been three years in the making.
23:38Yeah, we did it right.
