00:00The Industrial Court found a Tate University College lecturer guilty of giving marks to
00:08three absent students and failing to grade three others present at their semester final
00:13examination.
00:16Industrial Court Chairman D. Parabalingam said in the judgment dated June 20 that the
00:20lecturer's misdeeds cannot be viewed lightly.
00:24The lecturer, who was with the engineering faculty, started working with the college
00:28based in Kumamon Tungganu in 2014 until her services were terminated six years later.
00:35Parabalingam said the lecturer's actions could have spoiled the institution's good
00:39name and image.
00:41The four charges she was found guilty of included awarding B grades to two students and a B
00:47plus to another in the Malaysian Studies paper, despite their absence from the exam.
00:54She also failed to grade three other students in the same exam, prepared the wrong answer
00:59scripts for the same exam, and awarded grades without marking answer scripts.
