00:00 Four days of Disaster Preparedness and Humanitarian Operations Workshop has been held.
00:06 Various agencies of the government and several foreign partners are in the workshop.

00:15 Despite the calamities that are happening now,
00:19 the government is still preparing for the disasters that the country might face,
00:24 such as the Big One, typhoons, and others.
00:27 The Office of the Civil Defense, or OCD,
00:30 along with the United States Agency for International Development, or USID,
00:34 and the World Food Program, or WPF,
00:36 are all together with various government agencies,
00:39 such as NDRRMC, AFP, BFP, PCG, DSWD, DOH, and others,
00:46 for the Four Day Disaster Preparedness and Humanitarian Operations Workshop
00:50 that was officially started today
00:51 at the National Government Administrative Center, or NGAC, in Kapastarlak.
00:55 Its goal is to improve the interoperability of each agency and its international partners
01:01 when it comes to responding more effectively to the times of disaster.
01:04 This kind of workshop is very important
01:10 to bring together the expertise and knowledge of various agencies,
01:14 local and international.
01:16 It's important to make sure that everyone is good
01:19 and that everyone knows about our people and our government partners.
01:23 In the workshop, there will be simulation exercises
01:27 to share knowledge based on experiences
01:29 when it comes to disaster response
01:31 and repositioning of aid and resources
01:33 to make sure that the response to the needs of affected communities will be effective.
01:39 Foreign partners believe that they will contribute a lot
01:43 in the aspect of giving knowledge and collaboration with government agencies,
01:48 such as WPF,
01:50 which is one of the first responders in the world
01:52 in the time of disaster and tragedy.
01:54 In a very timely and efficient manner,
01:56 there is a need for coordinated effort.
01:58 And that's why we have brought in all the key departments and agencies
02:02 to really start thinking how we coordinate
02:05 and ensure a coordinated disaster response.
02:08 Meanwhile, according to the OCD,
02:10 the government is still preparing
02:12 for the preposition of more than 2 billion pesos worth of food and non-food items
02:17 from various agencies and local government units
02:19 in the expected arrival of the land in the country.
