00:00 The MMDA and DPWH are working together to address the problem of flooding in Metro Manila,
00:06 especially when the rainy season has started.

00:12 I'm here in Spain, in Manila, where the drainage is being fixed.
00:24 This is part of the government's preparation for the rainy season and the experience of flooding in Manila.
00:32 Some backhoes are installed to increase the capacity of the drainage
00:38 that will be connected to the water that will be poured by the rain.
00:41 According to MMDA Acting Chairman Don Artes,
00:45 the flooding in the Spanish Boulevard is expected to be reduced
00:49 due to the Sunug-Apog Pumping Station that is currently being built in Cabaan, San Diego Street.
00:54 Three pumping stations were built and are expected to be built
00:59 to address the problem of flooding in Cabaan, TAF Avenue, UN Avenue and Malates in Manila.
01:05 If not enough, the pumping stations were coordinated by MMDA and DNR
01:11 to open the floodgates of the sewerage treatment plant in Manila Bay
01:16 to allow the water to flow.
01:19 DPWH also plans to build four pumping stations in Tatalon, Doña Imelda and two in Rojas District
01:27 to address the flooding in Cabaan, Araneta Avenue, in Quezon City.
01:32 Aside from this, the construction of a detention pond inside Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City is also being discussed.
01:39 MMDA also plans to pay the cost of the repair of one of the pumps of a station in Mandaluyong
01:46 to address the flooding in Maisilo Circle.
01:51 Dayan, the 71 pumping stations of MMDA are now fully operational
01:56 and 36 of them were upgraded under the Metro Manila Flood Management Project.
