00:21The Commission on Elections on the Printing of Balotas for the 2025 National and Local Elections is temporary.

00:29This is after the Supreme Court issued a temporary restraining order in favor of some petitioners

00:35who were first disqualified and COC of COMELEC was cancelled.

00:40Because of this, COMELEC announced that they are back to zero in printing balotas

00:46to add the names of the five candidates.

00:49The six million balotas that were first printed will be destroyed by COMELEC.

00:54More or less, we were able to print six million balotas.

00:58At the same time, we were ordered to change the election management system.

01:04The Commission's wasted fund is estimated to be around P150 million

01:09because of the repeated printing of balotas,

01:12including the salaries of those who printed and others.

01:16But COMELEC said that if they repeat the printing, they will be the ones to pay for it.

01:22The signed contract with the country's system provider for the election is now out.

01:27In order to reach the target, it is possible to use the four machines of the National Printing Office.

01:33In the end, COMELEC is responsible for all the expenses.

01:40Of course, the NPO will not pay for it.

01:51On Monday, January 20, COMELEC targeted the printing of balotas again.

01:57But COMELEC will change the election management system and database of the candidates.

02:03They will also release new balot phases whose target is to print new balotas.

02:08The schedule of the mock elections will also change and it will be transferred on January 25 or on Saturday.

02:14But COMELEC said that even if there are changes,

02:18the elections will still continue on May 12 and they will not result in manual elections.

02:25The date of the election is May 12, this year.

02:29It will not be reset because it is in the Constitution.

02:34We will proceed with the automated election.

02:36That is our law.
