00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 Hi, everyone.
00:11 We're getting ready for the Met Gala.
00:13 And I am wearing Vetements.
00:17 So this is our second Met Gala.
00:19 And obviously, last year, we dove head first
00:22 and did the most.
00:24 We're very excited this year teaming up with Vetements.
00:28 Just doing something very different than she's ever
00:31 done before and not taking it so serious this time around.
00:35 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:39 The aesthetic is fuck you, in a way.
00:42 And I just-- I like how that sounds.
00:45 And it's kind of-- it just feels sexy and fun and different
00:49 and refreshing to me to kind of go in a wet t-shirt, butt ass
00:54 naked to the Met Gala.
00:55 I don't think people know or have
00:58 any idea what we're going to do.
01:00 I've seen many jokes of like, oh, she's going to show up naked.
01:03 She's like doing this.
01:04 She's doing that.
01:05 But we always have a good sense of shock value
01:09 that no one ever knows what's next.
01:11 It's like-- it's almost like we're trying--
01:13 we're laid back, but it's not because I'm
01:15 soaking and like sopping wet.
01:18 Pause.
01:19 What about a silver?
01:20 Silver bags.
01:21 Silver bags.
01:22 Silver bags.
01:23 Silver bags.
01:24 Silver bags.
01:25 It's Monday night.
01:29 We're doing a--
01:31 it's almost-- it's crying.
01:32 It's kind of like crying.
01:33 It's almost like I've just been doused with something
01:36 where I got out of the pool in a way.
01:37 So it's like tears coming down from the eye line.
01:41 And then they're going to mix like a loose glitter
01:44 into the tears.
01:45 We're going to finish the face, powder it down like we're just
01:48 going to be done and go out.
01:49 But then we're going to stop and do the tears.
01:52 And it's going to break down the makeup a little bit.
01:54 But we're going to add in that loose glitter to the tears
01:57 to give it a little bit more of a purpose.
01:59 In a way, like we're in an enchanted garden.
02:02 Exactly.
02:02 Could be tears of beauty.
02:04 Tears and happiness.
02:05 Yeah, tears of joy.
02:07 And so now we've crystallized them
02:09 with a really fine, beautiful pigment.
02:13 And this beautiful kind of dojo, beautiful, smoky eye,
02:17 you know, pulled out into a point.
02:19 And the beautiful brows that we always have, perfected skin,
02:23 outlined lip, right?
02:25 Exquisite.
02:26 Absolutely.
02:27 As a creative director and as a stylist,
02:29 it's been really one of my favorite things
02:31 I've ever able to be a part of because it
02:34 is a real and true collaboration.
02:36 It's not me just showing up with a rack of clothes
02:38 and being like, you're going to wear this because it's fashion.
02:41 There's a thought behind it.
02:42 And it's just really exciting.
02:44 So last year, we wanted to hide the look
02:48 before we hit the carpet.
02:50 So this year, Guram had the idea to wrap her in a towel
02:54 because when she first came in for the fitting,
02:56 she was just in a towel.
02:57 And he was like, oh my god, I love this.
02:59 Let's do a Vetement towel.
03:00 And it kind of just came together.
03:02 And then he also brought up the idea
03:03 to hide her face with a Vogue magazine.
03:05 So we literally see nothing.
03:06 It's not giving the look away.
03:08 It feels part of the vibe.
03:10 It's just something to add to the book.
03:13 Yeah.
03:15 I think the idea of not taking it so serious
03:19 and really focusing on the art of things
03:21 is the more exciting thing.
03:22 There are so many amazing young and fresh designers
03:26 out there that are doing really cool and exciting stuff that
03:29 like, don't take it serious.
03:30 If it looks good on you and you feel good in it,
03:33 happy Met Gala.
