00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're taking a look at 10 references and easter eggs that
00:13 only Fallout fans probably recognized in the show.
00:26 Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:30 Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:35 The Junk Jet
00:44 The Junk Jet is one of those odd weapons that you can either take or leave.
00:48 Really it isn't one of the best weapons of any Fallout game, but it'd still be strange
00:52 for a new entry to leave it out.
00:55 So it was nice to see that the show made sure to include it in at least one episode.
01:00 It actually makes an appearance in the very first episode, funny enough.
01:04 One trio of raiders roaming the wasteland carry a Junk Jet around, firing it at anyone
01:09 blocking their path.
01:11 They did not last long before the ghoul took them down.
01:22 The Jet
01:24 For those unfamiliar with Fallout, no, there was not another Junk Jet that was just a jet.
01:30 There is really a substance people in Fallout use called a jet.
01:34 We see its use as the raiders attack Lucy's vault, and you can sort of tell what it's
01:39 used for.
01:41 Created from the fumes of brahmin poo, Jet gives users a rush of adrenaline, giving them
01:46 a temporary increase in their strength.
01:55 However, frequently using the stuff can lead to ramifications, such as having hallucinations.
02:04 So in the games, it's best to use only in case of an emergency.
02:09 Assaultrons?
02:10 In the second episode, we are given a montage of Lucy exploring the wasteland, and a rather
02:22 lengthy montage at that.
02:24 While in the middle of a sandy desert, she comes across the buried husk of what seems
02:29 to be a robot.
02:30 But Fallout fans know, that is no ordinary robot.
02:34 That is an Assaultron, one of the deadliest robotic enemies of the wasteland, right behind
02:40 RoboBrainz.
02:41 Was this cameo hinting at what's to come in Season 2?
02:55 More special.
03:05 While many Fallout fans will know the term "special" as an acronym for the 7 key stats
03:09 for characters, the games do directly address it in albeit a more PSA self-help manner.
03:15 For instance, the party favors you get in Fallout 76 are all placed at different booths
03:20 that teach each stat.
03:22 But what about the show?
03:24 Well, roughly halfway through into the fourth episode, you'll be able to spot a poster
03:29 of it in the background.
03:37 Food fit for a wanderer.
03:47 The Fallout show can definitely talk the talk and walk the walk, but real fans would get
03:51 the finer details just right.
03:54 Well, the showrunners are definitely fans of Fallout because they went so far as to
03:59 include the food that you see in the games.
04:02 In the second episode, you'll see a can of cram get cracked open, and later on, some
04:07 delicious iguana on a stick.
04:10 Yum.
04:11 The third episode also features a tasty looking case of yum yum deviled eggs.
04:25 Power suit detailing.
04:31 One seemingly specific detail in the second episode happens when Maximus asks Titus about
04:36 his T-60 power suit.
04:39 Initially, this just seems like an awkwardly funny moment between the two, but there is
04:43 a striking detail here.
04:54 Tempered lining is actually an armor mod in Fallout 4, but it can only be applied to raider
05:00 and trapper armor.
05:01 Not only that, it is also used to increase damage resistance and energy resistance.
05:07 Not for mobility improvement.
05:09 So Maximus, you need to brush up on your stuff a little bit more, pal.
05:19 The water chip.
05:28 Roughly forty minutes into the third episode, viewers can spot a peculiar looking item called
05:33 a water chip.
05:34 This device is used to ensure that water purification machines are running properly in the vaults,
05:40 and it's something the franchise has often neglected.
05:43 The only time this has ever been directly acknowledged was back in the very first Fallout
05:48 game.
05:49 The main story involved your vault's water chip breaking down, forcing your vault to
05:54 send you into the wasteland in search of a new one.
05:57 A water chip is obtainable in Fallout 2, but it doesn't serve much of a purpose.
06:13 Super duper, Mart.
06:24 The second we saw this location in the fourth episode, we could hear all of those Fallout
06:28 3 fans screaming in excitement.
06:31 Truth be told, it isn't something truly specific to Fallout 3, it's just another
06:35 one of the franchise's many fictional brands.
06:38 But it sticks out to some of us because one of the earliest missions in the game involves
06:42 entering a desolate super duper, Mart, that is hiding a group of raiders.
06:47 Not much happens here, but the layout is unique enough to resonate with us.
06:51 Plus, some of us did manage to get that Protectron to off the mall for us.
06:56 It kind of shows all of the unique and different approaches Fallout 3 allowed us to take in
07:00 combat.
07:12 Mr. House On the surface, the meeting with Vault-Tec
07:25 and various other businessmen looks to be nothing more than a sinister meeting of executives.
07:30 However, there is one familiar face in the room that had us fans freaking out.
07:36 That CEO of RobCo with his fancy getup and bushy mustache?
07:40 That man is Mr. House, and as his talk implies, he is a gambling man.
07:46 Specifically, a gambling man ruling a city of casinos with an iron fist.
07:50 The only difference here is that he doesn't seem to have been computerized yet like a
07:54 corrupt Walt Disney.
07:56 But given how much time passes between then and the events of the show, could things have
08:00 changed?
08:01 The show does take place fifteen years after the events of New Vegas, but anything could
08:06 have happened.
08:07 Speaking of New Vegas...
08:21 New Vegas To outsiders, that final shot looked like
08:33 it was just a hint of a new setting to expect in the show's second season.
08:37 To longtime fans, it was so much more.
08:41 That city, shown in the final moments of the first season, was none other than New Vegas,
08:46 the most famous and popular setting among Fallout fans.
08:51 The main attraction of the 2010 game Fallout New Vegas, this city housed several factions
08:56 that ran their own casinos.
08:58 It also houses one character who plays an early part in the campaign, Benny, who was
09:03 voiced by the late Friends star, Matthew Perry.
09:07 From the robot sheriffs to the possibility of seeing Benny, there are so many questions
09:11 we have as to what role New Vegas has in the show.
09:14 Guess we'll just have to play the game again to form our own theories.
09:26 But did you spot any of these references for yourself?
09:28 Let us know down in the comments, and be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays for more great
09:32 videos every day.
09:34 Thanks for watching!
