00:00I have to kill you. Try it, but I'm no king.
00:05Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're revealing our picks for the most challenging bosses in
00:10the Witcher franchise. Be warned, major spoilers ahead.
00:23Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get
00:27notified about our latest videos.
00:42Hearts of Stone is significantly more challenging than the base game
00:46with many frustrating bosses to fight. One of its creepiest bosses is the Caretaker,
00:52wielding a hefty shovel that deals way more damage than expected.
00:56The most difficult aspect is his regeneration. Every hit he lands on you will heal him.
01:02Remember to spam Quen, which prevents this, and alongside this,
01:06he summons spirits who will also restore his health if not killed in time.
01:11If you kill him, you can loot his spade from his corpse,
01:15a decent weapon which heals Geralt 10% of all damage inflicted.
01:20No eyes or nostrils, deformed organs, damn thing had no right to be alive.
01:24The Kaeran, The Witcher 2, Assassins of Kings.
01:37The second Witcher game is where the series started to shine,
01:41introducing a satisfying combat system with deep RPG mechanics.
01:45It's harder than its sequel, especially in the early game,
01:48with things like alchemy not being a build choice but an essential mechanic.
01:53The Kaeran is the first major monster and the game's first real skill check.
01:58If you know what you're doing, it's not too bad, but to learn you must suffer.
02:03Once beaten, you will feel like a true witcher. Your reward is the Kaeran's skin,
02:09a component for the Kaeran Carapace armor, one of the best in the early game.
02:15Imlareth, The Witcher 3, Wild Hunt.
02:35Geralt comes toe-to-toe with the Hunt's second general, Invalen,
02:39on top of Bald Mountain during the Crone's Sabbath.
02:41He wields a huge shield and a monstrous mace, and he has phases of teleporting around.
02:47You need to master dodging to win this fight, and patience is key.
02:52When beaten, the victory cutscene is an amazing reward,
02:56with Geralt using Imlareth's own weapon to deliver the finishing blow.
03:01Don't forget to loot his body, which will give you a singular magic acorn.
03:05It can be consumed for two skill points, or delivered to the villagers, boosting their harvest.
03:22Iris's Greatest Fear, The Witcher 3, Wild Hunt, Hearts of Stone.
03:36Now for one of the most unforgiving bosses in the game.
03:40It's the ethereal form of Olgierd, considered by many to be the hardest boss.
03:45It's straightforward, but punishing, only letting you make a few mistakes.
03:50You face six opponents, but only one at a time, unless you hit them, then they'll jump right in.
03:57Each one will come down on you with an onslaught of flurry attacks,
04:01and they'll all frequently teleport.
04:03Even if you know what you're doing, one small mistake, and you're dead.
04:08If you want even more of a challenge, fighting all six together gives you the
04:12win-its-many-against-one achievement, one of the game's rarest.
04:21Letho, The Witcher 2, Assassins of Kings.
04:33Ready, as I'll ever be.
04:36The Kingslayer is the game's primary antagonist, a fellow Witcher hailing from the school of Viper.
04:42It only makes sense that he's one of the game's strongest opponents.
04:45Geralt fights him twice, and both times are a challenge, but the first encounter is harder.
04:52The arena is smaller, your character is weaker, and you haven't had as much practice.
04:57Since he's a Witcher, he'll use signs too, like Quen, which is an absolute headache to deal with.
05:03It's easiest to beat him using magic, rather than with a sword,
05:07although he is susceptible to parries if you're confident enough.
05:11Fascinatingly, sparing his life causes him to appear in The Witcher 3.
05:15Karanthir, The Witcher 3, Wild Hunt.
05:38The Wild Hunt's main mage and navigator is the hardest hunt warrior Geralt faces.
05:43Both Geralt and Ciri face him off just before the final boss, Ariden,
05:47who is nowhere near as threatening as his mage.
05:51The Ciri section is significantly easier, having access to a teleport and regenerating health.
05:57When Geralt steps in, Karanthir dials it up to 11, and starts unleashing torrents of magic.
06:03He teleports frequently in both phases, and also summons ice elementals to distract you.
06:09They're not difficult, but they'll draw your attention away from his constant projectiles.
06:14Once he's defeated, only Ariden stands between you and the ending.
06:26Toad Prince, The Witcher 3, Wild Hunt, Hearts of Stone.
06:31Despite being just a toad, this boss packs a hefty punch,
06:35and is the first major skill check in Hearts of Stone.
06:38He used to be a prince, until he nearly married Iris, whom Olgierd loved.
06:43So Olgierd cursed him, turning him into a massive toad.
06:47It's no use trying to backstab him, he'll just kick and jump.
06:51Don't stand in front of him, or he'll kick you in the face.
06:55It's no use trying to backstab him, he'll just kick and jump.
06:59Don't stand in front as well, or his mighty tongue will devastate you.
07:03Ensure you bring a few poison potions, or even go one step further,
07:07and chug a superior golden oriole potion.
07:10This grants healing from poison, putting the odds in Geralt's favor.
07:15Bizarre Javed, The Witcher.
07:37Most of this game's difficulty comes from its old age and dated mechanics.
07:41As such, it has its fair share of frustrating bosses, but for many, it's not a fun challenge.
07:48Bizarre Javed is one of the major antagonists, and is a headache to fight.
07:53He's a fire mage, who can quite easily mortally burn an unprepared Geralt.
07:57Be prepared to get knocked off your feet, and all you can do is watch as Javed abuses you.
08:03Once defeated, it's doubtful you'll struggle against anything else the game throws at you.
08:11Javed's dead.
08:13Witcher Geralt.
08:16Expect to see me, Grand Master.
08:20Soon.
08:22Saskia, The Witcher 2, Assassins of Kings.
08:26We may have lost a battle, but the war is just beginning.
08:30You, however, shall not take part in it.
08:34This is your end, Witcher.
08:37If you sided with Rosh, then the dragon fought near the end of the game
08:40will be simply another monster.
08:42If you sided with Iorveth, you will know the Adrenian rebel is secretly a dragon.
08:48When fought, she's being mind-controlled by Philippa Eilhart,
08:51motivating those who took Iorveth's path to spare her.
08:54The fight takes place on a tiny tower roof, giving you little room to dodge the dragon's attacks.
09:00Once succeeded, players can choose to spare or kill Saskia.
09:04Her best ending is achieved by helping Philippa instead of Triss,
09:08letting you both spare her and break her spell.
09:12We were fighting to the death just minutes ago.
09:15I understand.
09:16I believe I owe you part of my treasure.
09:19Family tradition and all.
09:21Dettlaff.
09:22The Witcher 3, Wild Hunt, Blood and Wine.
09:25Came here to kill you.
09:28Refence to the point.
09:31How refreshing.
09:33The Beast of Beauclair is the primary villain in Blood and Wine,
09:37alongside being the final boss of the entire franchise until The Witcher 4 releases.
09:42He's up there with Aetherial Altgeard for being considered the game's hardest.
09:47He maintains his humanoid form during Phase 1,
09:50but in Phase 2, he turns into a horrifying flying vampire.
09:54His third and final phase is even more terrifying,
09:58taking place inside the vampire's organs.
10:01Rather than tackling him head-on, Geralt must destroy his three hearts,
10:06allowing him to finally defeat the ungodly vampire.
10:14Leave him to me.
10:15Be gone.
10:16I can't let him.
10:17I insist.
10:19Are there any bosses you want to see return in the next game?
