00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're taking a look at 5 things we hope won't change
00:17in Grand Theft Auto 6 and 5 things we think desperately need to be fixed.
00:30Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:34Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:381. Customization
00:48One of the best aspects of GTA 5 was just how extensive the character customization
00:52was between both the single player campaign and GTA Online.
00:57On one hand, you could design Michael, Franklin, and Trevor however you saw them fit, sort
01:03of.
01:06On the other hand, you could almost make an exact replica of yourself just from a variety
01:11of facial presets and some accessories.
01:15We sincerely hope Rockstar is expanding the options further for GTA 6, at least for the
01:19online mode, and honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if they just brought over all of
01:24what was given in GTA 5.
01:292. Do change sprinting
01:42Rockstar has had a weird habit of attributing its sprinting mechanics to mashing a button
01:47mindlessly.
01:48Whereas other games now feature autorun or allow you to sprint just by clicking an analog
01:54stick, Rockstar still wants you to mash a button to run.
01:57Here's the thing, not everybody likes hearing their gross thumb mashing on plastic when
02:04all we're trying to do is get to our next objective.
02:14Rockstar, please just let us click an analog stick to run, or better yet, just copy TT
02:21Games' running system for the LEGO games.
02:23If we're moving forward for a certain amount of time, autosprint triggers, it's that easy.
02:29It's way better than mindlessly tapping X or A.
02:32Don't change cheat codes
02:50Ever since GTA 3 debuted on the PlayStation 2, Grand Theft Auto has long been known to
02:55feature some of the best cheat codes in gaming.
02:58Insta-spawn helicopters and tanks, alter the game's physics, give yourself the ability
03:03to run at breakneck speed, cause the entire world to fall into anarchy through riot mode,
03:09It all makes GTA a hilarious experience.
03:16Unfortunately, much of AAA gaming has left these fun gimmicks behind in favor of microtransactions
03:28and DLC.
03:29We only hope Rockstar doesn't follow suit and completely abandon these codes.
03:33It'll only make GTA seem more buttoned up, which is the exact opposite of the IP's general
03:39identity.
03:49Do change the driving
04:01Despite having developed so many games that feature driving missions and racing, Rockstar
04:06still can't seem to nail down vehicle physics and driving mechanics.
04:10That isn't to say GTA 5 was abysmal per se, they were better than previous games,
04:15just not by a huge margin.
04:17If you want certain cars to have torque or feel like we're driving iceboxes, then at
04:22least make it an explicit detail about the car in some way before we go wasting cash
04:28on something that looks nice.
04:38While we're at it, can we get a more expansive customization feature for cars?
04:42GTA 5 was, again, a step in the right direction, but why was it so barren of options?
04:58Don't change traffic
05:08One thing we'll say GTA 5 did perfectly was the traffic size.
05:13While it was lighter than usual for a place that's supposed to parody Los Angeles, it
05:18was still busy to feel like the world was alive yet open enough for pulling off crazy
05:23maneuvers.
05:32Earlier games had major problems where it felt like traffic was deliberately trying
05:36to prevent us from escaping the cops or reaching our destination in time.
05:40It would often make certain missions very aggravating.
05:43GTA 5, on the other hand, found a perfect balance.
05:47So long as GTA 6 follows suit, we should be A-OK.
05:59Do change the gunplay
06:10Despite innovations in making shooting feel good in video games, Rockstar Games has been
06:15glued to their own awkward gunplay for some reason.
06:19Unless you're packing explosive ammunition or using a shotgun, every gun feels like a
06:24pea shooter in sound and impact.
06:33What's worse is how tiny the reticle is for almost every weapon.
06:38While GTA 5 did allow players to change crosshairs in the settings menu, we need to make that
06:43the default and not whatever pebble Rockstar keeps setting us to.
06:48Come on guys, get with the times.
06:50Stop with the dot on the center of the screen.
06:59Don't change the sense of humor
07:11Part of the appeal with GTA is the sense of humor.
07:15Since the early days of the series, GTA has straddled the line between being edgy and
07:20being borderline offensive.
07:21However, the level of finesse GTA has shown was thanks to series lead writer Dan Houser,
07:27who is no longer at Rockstar Games, and the numerous co-writers he's had to help with
07:32each game.
07:41Many have speculated that the story will be written by Michael Unsworth and or Rupert
07:45Humphreys, who both wrote GTA 4, 5, Red Dead Redemption, and Red Dead Redemption 2 alongside
07:52Houser.
07:53But at the time of this video, it is unknown who is leading the story.
07:57We just hope the jokes won't be super tame.
08:05Do change trophies and achievements
08:18We know most GTA players probably don't care about this, but plenty of other gamers
08:22do.
08:23The most annoying part about GTA 5's platinum trophy was how you had to not only play the
08:28single-player campaign, but also grind the ever-loving hell out of GTA Online.
08:42Trophy guides estimate at least 150 hours of playtime in order to get the platinum trophy.
08:49Rockstar, would it be too much to ask you to separate the online trophies from the single-player
08:55campaign?
08:57Not everybody wants to touch GTA Online for very specific reasons, which we will get into
09:02in just a moment.
09:09Don't change the wanted system
09:21Another facet of GTA's formula that GTA 5 did right was the wanted system.
09:26In previous games, every game had a wanted system that made it too easy or too hard to
09:31escape the cops, often making frustrating scenarios in certain missions.
09:36GTA 5 at least was a bit more flexible, with its placement of garage workshops, alleyways,
09:42and the ability to see the cop's peripheral vision via the minimap.
09:53That said, let's keep this same approach for GTA 6 and not tweak the wanted system
09:59too much, although maybe make traffic collisions a little less sensitive in triggering the
10:05fuzz.
10:06Come on, cop.
10:07Officer, it was a complete accident, I swear.
10:18Do change GTA Online
10:29Look if there is ever one thing that desperately needs to be changed for GTA 6's sake, it's
10:35GTA Online.
10:36While we can appreciate the ability to unlock everything through natural gameplay and without
10:41having to grind as much as other games would make us, there are some glaring issues with
10:46griefers, trolls, and toxic behavior in general.
10:50Story-wise, there isn't much substance beyond Agent 13's constant sarcasm and Lester's...um...awkwardness.
11:07What GTA Online needs is some flesh on its story, something other than, we're getting
11:12rich to get rich so we can be rich.
11:15And maybe get some other characters to set up missions instead of Agent 13 or Lester,
11:20please.
11:30What do you hope GTA 6 does to shake up the series' formula?
