00:00When the NBA restart officially begins this Thursday, keen-eyed L.A. Clippers fans may
00:05know something different about the jerseys the players are wearing.
00:07Beginning later this week, players that have chosen to do so will start wearing social
00:11justice statements on the back of their uniform where their name usually sits.
00:14It's part of the league's initiative to bring more attention to social issues, which
00:17also includes planning to phrase Black Lives Matter on the court above the NBA logo.
00:21Here's what each member of the Clippers will be wearing.
00:24Amir Coffey will wear How Many More.
00:26Michael Green will wear Black Lives Matter.
00:28Montrezl Harrell will wear How Many More.
00:30Reggie Jackson will wear Liberation.
00:32Terrence Mann will wear I Am A Man.
00:34Rodney Magruder will wear Peace.
00:36Marcus Morris will wear Education Reform.
00:38Joaquin Noah will wear Justice.
00:40Patrick Patterson will wear I Am A Man.
00:42Landry Schamett will wear Equality.
00:44Lou Williams will wear Equality.
00:46And Ibiza Zubats will wear Enough.
00:48Patrick Beverley, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard are among the 16% of players participating
00:53in the restart that decided against wearing a statement, though it's not because they
00:57don't support the cause.
00:58Earlier this month, Leonard explained the reasoning behind his decision, saying, quote,
01:02We've been dealing with this situation.
01:03We've been giving back to our communities.
01:05I'm going to keep on doing what I've been doing, giving back to my community, educating
01:09my community, and just keep going from there.
01:11It doesn't matter if we have a statement back up our jersey.
01:13It's about doing the work.
01:15As far as how else Clippers are demonstrating during the season, the LA Times' Brad Turner
01:20reported last week that LA is among a group of teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers,
01:24Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics, that plan to kneel during the national
01:28anthem during the upcoming restart.
01:30On Tuesday, Clippers coach didn't explicitly say that he would kneel as well, but did say
01:35that he would do whatever his players decided to do this Thursday and beyond, saying, quote,
01:40We need to follow the youth on this movement.
01:42We need to follow what they want to do and listen to what they want to do and say, and
01:45then follow them.
01:46And so as a coach, I'm going to do that.
01:48I'm going to let my players lead, and I'll follow.
01:51Clippers will face off the Lakers this Thursday, July 30th at 9 p.m.
01:55Eastern to start the resumed season.
