00:00Nick Gallo, kcthunder.com.
00:02Trey, just tell us how that dunk felt.
00:05Sure, made headlines in the arena.
00:08Oh man, when it first happened, it just felt good
00:11because I had just got dunked on the play before.
00:13So to come back and get one like that, it felt good.
00:17But I was just in the moment,
00:18so it kind of just came and went.
00:21Probably hit me more once I get home
00:23and see all the videos and stuff, so.
00:25You had the career high tonight, but Mark reiterated,
00:28you've earned this playing time with scrappiness,
00:31defense, intangibles.
00:33How proud are you of kind of the progress you've made
00:37as an all-around player so far in your rookie year?
00:39I'm just glad that it's paying off
00:41and that everybody has been able to see it.
00:44That's something that I've been taking pride in,
00:45the defensive end, the scrappy play, things like that.
00:48And that's what's getting me my playing time
00:50and allowing me to have a career night, like you said.
00:54How much, I mean, everybody at this level
00:56thinks they can play,
00:57but you've obviously made big strides.
00:59How good do you feel about just your game,
01:00where it is in terms of,
01:02I mean, just to try a dunk like that,
01:04right after you got dunked on?
01:05Yeah, I think that I'm getting
01:07more and more comfortable every day.
01:10I think I'm making strides in the right direction.
01:13I'm coming to practice every day,
01:15thinking about the right stuff.
01:16I'm just trying to find ways
01:17that I can earn more playing time and help my team.
01:21But I feel like I'm doing pretty good.
01:22I'm making good strides,
01:24and I feel like I got a lot more,
01:26a lot, a longer way to go.
01:28What's the biggest reason for your improvement today?
01:31I'm just staying with it.
01:32I'm just trusting my work.
01:34I know I put the work in,
01:35and then, you know, my teammates, coaches,
01:38and everybody believing in me,
01:40and that just gives me more confidence.
01:43Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic.
01:45When was the last time you dunked like that in game?
01:48High school.
01:48I had one kind of similar to that in high school,
01:51my junior year.
01:53I didn't dunk my whole two years in college, so.
01:57I went to YouTube and looked.
01:59I couldn't find one.
02:00Yeah, I was curious.
02:00Zero dunks.
02:01I missed like two of them.
02:07Paris Lawson, OKCThunder.com.
02:08You talked about taking pride
02:10and that scrappiness on the defensive end.
02:12Do you feel yourself getting more comfortable
02:14and maybe like anticipating more plays
02:16or just growing in terms of like the schemes
02:18and tactical stuff on the defensive end?
02:20Yeah, for sure.
02:21I mean, having more reps, that help out a lot.
02:23Like when you're on the court,
02:24I feel like I learn better.
02:27Like hands-on, doing the stuff.
02:27So when you're on there and you're getting reps
02:31in game and practice, that helps out a lot.
02:33Also with the blue.
02:34I got a lot of reps with the blue
02:36and that kind of helped me out a lot.
02:40Anybody else in the room?
02:41OK, we'll take Zoom.
02:43We got two questions.
02:44Adam Francisco, go ahead with your question first, Adam.
02:47Oh yeah, Trey, you seem like a pretty confident player
02:50as is, but how does a game like this
02:52against a Los Angeles Lakers,
02:54LeBron James, Russell Westbrook,
02:56and stuff like that,
02:57how does that help your confidence as a young rookie?
03:01I mean, it helped.
03:03It'll help out a lot.
03:04Just going out there and knowing that I can go out there
03:07and play against the best players.
03:11But that was something that I was telling myself
03:12before the game that when I got in,
03:14I was going to go in there and try to go at them,
03:16be confident, shoot when I was open
03:18and just try to make winning plays.
03:22We got last question.
03:23Alex Roy, go ahead with your question, Alex.
03:26Hey, Trey.
03:26So at the beginning of the season, Coach Mark,
03:28you talked about your ability to create space,
03:32but then also you getting used to the NBA speed
03:35and the length of the NBA players.
03:38Can you maybe go in depth as far as your progress
03:42and your progression from that moment during training camp
03:46to where you're at now?
03:48Yeah, when I first came in,
03:50I was having trouble getting off shots,
03:53like catch and shoot.
03:55I felt like I can create space whenever.
03:57So that wasn't really a problem,
03:59but it was just catching and shooting.
04:00And I knew I was going to play off ball a lot this year.
04:03So I knew that was something I had to work on.
04:05And like you said, it's different lanes, different speed.
04:09So I feel like I'm getting used to it now,
04:11but I still feel like I pass up some shots
04:12where it's like, I don't know if he's close enough
04:15or if he's far enough,
04:16but I feel like I'm going in the right direction
04:18as far as that.
04:21Thank you, Trey.
04:21Thank you.
