00:10 Yeah, it was big, obviously, a lot of, I mean,
00:18 every team would send in a game plan around stopping the honest.
00:21 And we were no different, I think tonight we actually did that really well.
00:24 He struggled from the field, but I mean, he had 20 or whatever it was, but
00:28 I think we made him earn it for a lot of the game.
00:30 And especially in that last quarter, we emphasized kind of talking about making
00:33 a hard for him.
00:34 And then I think we held him to 16 points, but which is, it's an outstanding effort
00:38 against a team like that.
00:39 But I mean, offensively, we just couldn't get going in that last quarter.
00:42 But defensively, I think for the most part of the game, we were good.
00:46 We held them to a really winnable score, but in the end,
00:48 we couldn't close the game out.
00:50 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:00 Yeah, just getting extra possession for our team, I think it's critical.
01:03 I mean, the more possessions we can have in a game,
01:05 the bigger the chance of winning the game is.
01:07 And I was just trying to read, I was in the corner a lot of the time, so
01:10 just kind of reading where the ball's bouncing.
01:12 And if my defender wasn't boxing me out, I was going to the glass.
01:15 And just trying to come up with second chance points for our team.
01:19 And as I said, the more possessions in the basketball game you can have,
01:22 it gives you a higher chance of winning the game.
01:24 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:28 He was great, he said it in a meeting, when we have a man down,
01:32 no one needs to step up and be a hero, and he filled his shoes perfectly.
01:35 You couldn't really tell there was a difference out there,
01:38 it was just another voice.
01:40 But no, he was great, guys really respect him, and he did a great job tonight.
01:44 It was a shame we couldn't get a win for his first game, but he was awesome for us.
01:48 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:58 Yeah, I mean, Phil and Ike, sometimes you can't really teach,
02:09 I mean, it's more naturally given.
02:11 And I'm fortunate enough to have that with me.
02:13 And I mean, being a bigger guard, I can see over the defense a little bit easier.
02:17 But just reading the game, knowing my teammates' tendencies,
02:20 where they like the ball.
02:21 And the guys know when I'm driving to make sure they're caught in the move,
02:24 because I'm gonna get them looks.
02:26 And they're doing a great job, they're in the right spots for me, so
02:28 it makes my job easy.
02:29 But yeah, I mean, playmaking and having a feel for the game,
02:32 starting up after a young age.
02:33 And as I got older and grew, I guess, you get more experience and
02:38 you're feeling IQ kind of develops over time.
02:40 So that's where that's come from, I mean, you can't really teach,
02:43 I can feel for the game, but it's pretty natural to me.
02:46 [BLANK_AUDIO]
02:56 Yeah, I mean, passing the ball is another thing.
03:07 It's like it is instinctual for me to pass the ball and
03:12 try and get my guys looks.
03:14 And I'm comfortable with either hand, I've practiced it from a young age,
03:18 using my parents always taught me to use both my left and right hand.
03:21 And when I used to play juniors,
03:23 we always started the offense on the left hand side of the floor.
03:25 So that's why I'm dominant with my left dribbling the ball and passing.
03:29 But I'm just as comfortable, I'm a natural right hander.
03:31 So I'm comfortably the side and I think when I throw those kind of whip passes,
03:35 the defense doesn't expect it.
03:37 And sometimes our guys don't really expect it because it's a risky pass and
03:40 sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.
03:42 But the guys are kind of learning just to have their hands ready because I throw some
03:46 wild passes that are not there and sometimes they get picked off,
03:49 sometimes they don't.
03:50 So that cross court pass, I just saw Shay open and I kind of plied it for him.
03:55 It was lucky enough to get stolen.
03:56 [BLANK_AUDIO]
04:02 >> Hey Josh, hope you're doing well.
04:04 For a rookie who has double double against the reigning champs,
04:08 the MVP of the finals, what it means to how big boost you get from your performance and
04:13 about the defensive effort of your team.
04:16 What did you represent the 96 points against such a gifted team like the Bucks are?
04:21 >> Yeah, it was a good effort.
04:23 I mean, as I said, it was a really winnable score for us, obviously offensively.
04:27 We started slow again, which was another thing that it's been an issue for
04:31 us recently.
04:32 You're not the slow start and we've talked about that and
04:34 we need to come out more aggressive.
04:36 We need to be the aggressive and throw the first punch.
04:37 But it was same situation tonight, we fought back, we got the game.
04:41 While within our reach and I think we kept it within two points for
04:44 a lot of that fourth quarter.
04:46 We couldn't just break through and kind of get that lead.
04:48 But credit to our guys, we stuck with it.
04:50 We grinded that game out.
04:52 Down the line, down the stretch, they made some big plays, made some big shots.
04:57 And we're gonna learn how to close games out like that.
04:59 They're the reigning champs.
05:00 They are for a reason and they showed that tonight down the stretch of that game.
05:04 Thanks, Jeff.
05:07 Thank you.
