00:00 Michael's curious. I don't know if you've been asked about this. Have you been asked about the ball the new ball? Yeah
00:04 No, not yet. What are your thoughts on it?
00:06 It doesn't seem to have affected your shot other people claim that it affects the way they play
00:11 What are your thoughts on the new basketball? I like it. I think they did a really good job
00:16 making it similar to the other one and
00:19 We had some in here last season towards the end of the season, especially that we were able to
00:27 start practicing with yeah, and honestly since I had that injury last year and
00:32 Really, you know, I think it's I think it's good ball. I think it's very similar to the old ones.
00:39 Yeah, so it doesn't feel different. Does it feel different to you? I mean, it's it's definitely it definitely is different but
00:46 But slightly and I don't think it's different in a bad way. It's just different a little bit, but yeah, I like it
00:51 Yeah
00:52 And then I wonder your thoughts on the overall rule changes
00:55 You've had ten games under your belt to kind of get a feel for those
00:58 How do you feel on both ends as a defender and then as an offensive player like how they've affected your game?
01:04 Yeah, I like the changes. I think that players and referees and coaches are still
01:11 adjusting to those changes
01:14 But I think it's good for the game
01:19 You guys have been on you know, the long California road trip you had one game here and then you were in New Orleans
01:24 Are you guys excited to kind of have a homestay for a little bit? Yeah for sure
01:28 Yeah, I got some family coming in town today and I'll be back
01:32 It'll be good to play in front of the home fans and yeah be home for a while
01:35 And how do you guys carry on this confidence that you've had now you're on a three game winning streak
01:41 How do you carry that into this upcoming week?
01:43 Just uh, you know taking it one play at a time
01:47 Yeah, obviously feels good to be on a little bit of a streak but part of the NBA there's so many games you gotta
01:52 Stay ready and keep chipping away. So, you know, I think
01:56 Winning last night felt good
01:58 but I think there's still a lot of areas that we can improve on from the game and we addressed those with them today and
02:04 Darius basically mentioned in a post game availability that you were a mentor type figure to him
02:13 How does that kind of make you feel knowing that he looks up to you in that way?
02:16 I was honored and I told him I admire him too
02:19 and
02:21 you know, we've got a really good group of young guys on this team that are
02:26 Willing to learn and they're growing and a good coaching staff that brings them on that journey. So I'm excited
02:34 I mean, I think we got a really good group of guys that
02:37 You know, they're fun to play with and they want to be good. They want to be great. So that's infectious for everybody
02:44 What's different about the first few games that you guys had to now?
02:48 Started the season really poorly, you know lost by 30 the Rockets and then now you're on this win streak. What's different?
02:56 Between those games and these last few games. I mean, I think we had some losses
03:01 beginning of the season that we're still pretty close games and
03:06 Sometimes that's the way the NBA can be, you know, you can can win some games that
03:13 Could have gone the other way and vice versa. So that's kind of what I'm saying
03:17 You got to just say the course and and even when like I said, even when you win a game
03:22 It can be something like well, you know, we didn't play that. Well, we still won and
03:27 You know, I think towards the end of the game last night
03:30 defensively
03:33 You know the Pelicans were running almost the same play the whole time down the stretch and we address that film
03:40 you know me personally being able to disrupt that a little bit more and
03:44 Just be a little more aware. I think in our leg game situations because that's how many games come down to you know, you maybe
03:51 Eight point game or something like that up or down with you know, six minutes to go something like that
03:58 And you know, you might be in the lead and think okay
04:01 Like, you know, we're pretty good with six minutes of long time and with the three-point shot and all that it's gonna change so quickly
04:07 So being able to continue to keep playing even when the game might slow down a bit and be kind of more
04:12 You know possession game and and being being chased hands more
04:16 Just you know defensively being able to lock in offensively be able to keep keep a good rhythm and pace
04:23 Those are things that help us on the season
04:25 Trae came back last night from what are your thoughts on his time there and how perform last night?
04:33 And just some general thoughts about him. I thought he did well last night
04:37 He got going with that little putback in the first half
04:40 had a
04:42 Had some good position in the second half to came out aggressive and he seemed locked in defensively, too
04:49 So so I'm happy for him
04:51 We'll go to Christos on this one Sam
04:59 Hey Mike, how are you?
05:05 Good
05:07 Yeah, Josh has been really impressive his aggressiveness and just as a
05:31 His tenacity
05:36 Defensively
05:37 And offensively to you know, even last night just getting in there getting offensive rebounds
05:43 Getting making some big-time passes
05:46 Attacking the rim, you know at such a young age. He's a special player and
05:51 She's becoming you know a great leader for us
05:54 vocally and you know, he's such a great player such a great passer and he gets
05:58 guys involved so well, you know attacking the rim and finishing and then dishing out so
06:04 We're gonna hit those two guys
06:06 Alright, thank you Mike.
06:09 Yeah, thanks.
