00:00 [inaudible]
00:22 I think we're a young team.
00:25 We have a lot of flaws.
00:27 But the thing about this team that I love
00:29 and I think everyone is going to grow to love
00:31 is that we have absolutely no quit in us.
00:35 That's a hell of a team that we played tonight.
00:37 And we were down, what, 18, 20, 20 in the third.
00:41 And they started the game,
00:43 punches in the mouth right away.
00:44 And we just have no quit, no matter who's on the court,
00:46 like, just no quit.
00:49 I think, like, you know, we're missing our head coach.
00:52 Wes steps up, he does a great job.
00:54 Job for him on his first,
00:56 his first, you know, head coaching job.
00:59 Like I said, absolutely no quit.
01:01 Like, we don't care the score.
01:03 We just fight to the finish line.
01:04 And today we came out short.
01:06 But, you know, I think it was a valuable lesson to be learned.
01:10 This fight, I mean, yeah, I think, you know,
01:20 Dave did a great job on Giannis, as good as somebody can.
01:24 One of the best players in the world.
01:25 And Dave's fought for 48 every time he was on him.
01:28 I don't think he had a dunk.
01:31 He did a good job of loading on transition.
01:32 Didn't have a bunch of transition buckets.
01:35 Just a credit to his team, how he fought.
01:38 I think if we continue to do that over the course of '82,
01:41 we're going to be all right.
01:56 Yeah, I try to talk to him because he expects,
02:01 he has such high expectations for himself.
02:02 And rightfully so, because he's so talented.
02:06 But sometimes he gets down on himself.
02:07 I just try to tell him like, man,
02:08 like these dudes are gone.
02:10 They average 30, they average 25.
02:12 Like, and you're making them work.
02:13 And he honestly makes everybody work every night.
02:16 Like the growth he's had defensively this year
02:19 has been phenomenal.
02:20 Like watching him, his alertness,
02:23 off the ball, on the ball, his rebounding.
02:26 He's been one of our best defensive players.
02:29 And when you put down a court with Lou,
02:31 and all of us who know how to play team defense, we can guard.
02:35 That's the job.
02:50 I mean, I didn't do a great job in the first half.
02:52 I missed an open, wide open three.
02:54 I missed two other threes, missed the free throw.
02:56 But it's just the job is to continue to stay ready.
02:58 Like I told Shea after the game, like, man,
03:00 you won us a lot of games,
03:03 and you're going to continue to win us a lot of games.
03:05 This, we didn't have the best game tonight.
03:07 But I told him after the game, like, you know, we go as he goes.
03:10 So it's our job just to try to pick him up.
03:11 If he's having an off night,
03:13 like we have to try to find offense from other places.
03:15 I think Muskie's always ready.
03:17 And that's something I kind of pride myself on this year,
03:19 is to try to be efficient in short minutes.
03:22 It's not easy, but it's a job.
03:24 [silence]
03:27 Yeah, I mean, listen, we play the same defense.
03:42 We had the same offensive game plan.
03:44 It wasn't like, you know, Coach Bliss came in
03:46 and was running a bunch of different stuff.
03:48 Like, it was the same game plan.
03:52 They're a little different personalities.
03:53 Like, you know, Mark has a lot more sarcasm in him.
03:57 But, no, I mean, we definitely miss Mark,
04:02 but Coach Bliss did a great job tonight, too.
04:04 So I wish we could have pulled that one out for him.
04:07 But I was happy, you know, his first one
04:08 was a high-level game like that one.
04:10 [silence]
04:13 Yeah, I mean, he's such a great passer.
04:25 And he just takes chances with the ball in a good way,
04:29 like, in a good way.
04:30 Like, left-hand cross-court passes,
04:32 like, his creativity is off the charts.
04:34 And it's fun to watch and really fun to play with him.
04:36 Like, when he has the ball,
04:38 I'm always trying to run into open spots.
04:39 Like, he and me won at the end of the first quarter,
04:41 like, left-hand hook pass.
04:42 I missed a three, but just shot, like, passes like that.
04:44 Like, you always got to be ready when you throw
04:46 the guy like that.
04:47 And also, I think his rebounding has been phenomenal.
04:49 Like, offensively, he's kept plays of high scores.
04:53 He's crashed the boards on defense, too.
04:54 So he's been showing, you know, a full-floor game
04:57 and really impressive for a guy his age.
04:59 [silence]
05:02 I love him. I love him.
05:07 Like, anytime I check in the game,
05:08 I see him next to me.
05:11 I know I'm going to get a shot up, so it makes me happy.
05:14 [silence]
05:17 Oh, for sure. For sure.
05:22 But I could be in the opposite corner,
05:24 and he could fling it, you know,
05:26 and it would hit me right in my shooting pocket.
05:28 So you definitely always got to be ready.
05:29 He's a hell of a passer.
05:32 High-level player, high-level thinker of the game.
05:35 He can play.
05:37 [silence]
05:40 You know, Wiggs is a tough kid.
05:55 Like, he comes in, like everyone else,
05:57 he expects highly of himself.
05:59 We have high expectations for him.
06:02 And he plays hard.
06:03 I think he gave up an and one, and, you know,
06:07 a lot of rookies in the fourth quarter
06:08 might put their head down.
06:10 He responded by throwing a beautiful pass to base
06:13 for an and one and got it back.
06:15 And next time, I think, got a rebound.
06:16 Like, he's just -- he's a high-level player.
06:18 I think he's -- there's no --
06:20 he can really be good in this league, I think.
06:23 He plays hard, knows how to play.
06:24 He can make shots.
06:26 I can go on and on and on, but, yeah, I like Wiggs a lot.
06:30 [silence]
06:33 Thanks, guys.
06:36 So there's no time.
06:37 We'll see everyone tomorrow in Boston.
