00:00 >> So I wanted to ask you about Trey because Mark mentioned you when talking
00:04 about him last night, it's sort of like wanting him to shoot more,
00:07 getting comfortable, getting his shot in the NBA.
00:10 Can you sort of relate that back to your experience as a rookie and
00:13 trying to find that balance of how to play within the offense but
00:17 also get your own shot?
00:18 >> What did Mark say so I can build off that?
00:20 >> He said basically how they were wanting you to take deeper threes and
00:25 to be comfortable shooting threes and not just facilitate the offense and
00:30 stuff but find your own shots.
00:32 He said they're trying to do that with Trey as well.
00:35 >> So yeah, that's why I pretty much tell Trey before every game,
00:38 I tell him be aggressive and stay aggressive.
00:40 If you don't go down, it's just part of the game.
00:43 And I think we're all growing and I think when you have a gift like that,
00:47 like Trey's, you can see that he can be a high level shot creator in this league.
00:54 And you need to shoot deeper threes so guys close out on you.
00:58 You guys are trying to run you off the line and that's gonna open up his ability,
01:02 all the things he can do in the paint, all the finishes he has,
01:05 how athletic he is.
01:06 So I think, and you can see the progress he's made from day one.
01:09 He's gonna continue to get better at his work ethic,
01:12 to have the kid he is, have the person he is, and then how talented he is.
01:15 So yeah, you're gonna continue to see growth in that area.
01:19 >> What are some of those special offensive traits that you see in him?
01:23 >> He's super athletic, he's crafty, he's creative.
01:26 He has a handle, he has wiggle.
01:29 He can pass the ball, he can finish at the rim.
01:32 He can take contact, he can shoot the ball.
01:35 He's just a complete offensive player at a young age, it's impressive.
01:39 >> And Coach Dagnall said in the beginning of the season,
01:42 kind of near the media week, that he really liked you, Teo, and Trey Mann together.
01:47 But now it seems like that was too small of a lineup that he liked to put out there.
01:52 But he still puts you and Trey Mann together a lot of the time.
01:55 Can you just speak on how your guys' chemistry continues to grow together?
01:59 >> Yeah, I mean, to be honest, I love playing with Trey.
02:01 I thought it took off the court.
02:02 At the end of the day, if I'm on the court with Trey, Teo, Shea, Josh,
02:06 whoever it is, it's my job as a player to make sure the whole team's connected.
02:11 But to answer your question more specifically,
02:15 Trey, when we're in the game together, I think it's my job to just
02:20 encourage him to continue to be aggressive, whether he makes one, misses one.
02:24 It's just I have to be able to get him to continue to be aggressive,
02:27 because if he's aggressive for the full minutes he's in the game,
02:30 good things will happen.
02:31 >> And then Isaiah Roby hasn't played in a few games, but
02:34 comes out last night and has a really good night for himself.
02:37 Can you just talk about, he talked about in the post game too,
02:40 just his making sure he was prepared when his name was called,
02:43 he was gonna go out and do well.
02:44 Can you just speak to that?
02:46 >> Yeah, I think it speaks to the type of person he is and
02:49 the type of people we have in this organization.
02:51 I mean, it's when you don't hang your head when you're not getting what you want or
02:56 what you think you deserve, and you can buy into the team and you can stay ready.
03:01 And you can understand that it'll come back to you when you're ready when it does.
03:04 Usually good things happen, and that's because of the type of person he is and
03:06 the type of work he put in when his number wasn't being called.
03:10 >> And you just played Houston last night, you're about to play them again on
03:13 Wednesday.
03:14 Just having the recency of playing them last night,
03:16 knowing what adjustments you can make,
03:18 how beneficial is it for that team to just get a quick turnaround like that?
03:22 >> I think that's the dream scenario, coming off a loss and
03:25 getting to play that same team the next day.
03:27 That's the ideal, that's what everybody wants.
03:29 When you lose a game, you want another crack at the team.
03:31 So we're hoping to make some adjustments and we'll be ready to play.
03:36 >> Anything on Zoom?
03:39 Nick, you wanna go ahead?
03:41 >> Yeah, just more on Zaya.
03:44 He looked pretty strong down low, I was just curious if that was because of all
03:47 the push-ups you're making him do.
03:49 >> [LAUGH] Probably has something to do with it.
03:52 He's definitely getting stronger because we've done a lot of push-ups, so
03:56 it's probably paying off.
03:57 [BLANK_AUDIO]
04:01 >> All right, Paris Lawson?
04:02 [BLANK_AUDIO]
04:05 >> Hey, Ty, just wanted to ask about the defense for you guys,
04:08 especially over these past few games.
04:11 It's been really strong and really consistent.
04:13 Anything that you're noticing on that end of the floor in terms of how you guys are
04:17 growing and developing?
04:18 And how much does chemistry of this group play on that end of the floor?
04:22 >> Chemistry plays a little bit of a factor, but
04:25 one thing I noticed from this game to game is we play hard.
04:27 I think last night we slipped a little bit in that area.
04:31 And I think I said it last time or a few games ago that
04:34 that's something we can't afford to slip on.
04:37 But most of the time we've been doing a really good job of just playing hard.
04:40 And when you do that, and then we're doing a better job of trying to understand
04:44 scouting reports, understanding the other team's personnel.
04:47 And when you can pull that together, you can do a good job of guarding teams.
04:50 Guys wanna be comfortable.
04:53 And we're doing a solid job of taking people out of their comfort zones.
04:57 I think like I said, last night it slipped a little bit, but
05:01 that's probably the biggest key for us defensively.
05:03 >> All right, thank you, Ty.
