00:02 Just given the emotion of Wednesday,
00:04 how good was this one tonight when you saw a shot drop
00:07 and there was no time left?
00:09 - It was good.
00:09 It was great to be on the other end of it.
00:10 I mean, obviously tough on Wednesday,
00:13 you lose on a historic length of a beater.
00:15 And tonight, I think we were down four with 30 seconds to go
00:18 and we executed everything we needed to down the stretch.
00:21 And we've spoken about that.
00:22 After the New Orleans game, we did the same thing.
00:24 We found the right players, we trapped when we needed to.
00:27 And tonight we did the same.
00:28 And luckily we were on the other end of it.
00:30 So that was good to come out with a win.
00:33 - Your responsibility is the inbounds pass.
00:35 Just as you kind of saw all that develop,
00:38 you talked about the execution.
00:39 Like what were some keys in that moment
00:41 to get you that shot?
00:43 - Yeah, well, I mean, the play was originally for Luke,
00:45 but they busted that screen up
00:47 and then I got it into Muskie
00:48 and then he had to make a play and hit Shea.
00:50 And that's probably the guy whose hands he want the ball in
00:52 at that point in the game.
00:54 And big players make big plays
00:56 and that's what he did tonight.
00:59 - Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic.
01:00 Josh, how aware were you that you were two points away
01:03 from a triple-double?
01:04 - I was aware.
01:05 I knew in the third quarter,
01:06 but I just couldn't make a shot in that last,
01:08 but we got a win and that's what I'm happy about.
01:11 - Did you feel any sort of pressure
01:13 to get those extra two points?
01:14 Are you still trying to play in the flow?
01:16 Like what's your mindset?
01:17 - Nothing really changes.
01:18 Same game.
01:19 Whatever I had to do out there to help us win,
01:23 whether that was get the ball and push the pace
01:25 or set other guys up.
01:26 So that's what I did and then we got the win.
01:28 - And are you aware that you would be the youngest player
01:29 in NBA history to have a triple-double?
01:32 - I did not know that, no.
01:33 - You have, I think like 60 something days
01:35 to get a triple-double to be the youngest player.
01:38 So no pressure.
01:39 - Okay, I know now, thank you.
01:41 - Joe Masato of The Oklahoma.
01:45 Josh, I'm just wondering if you could assess
01:47 Shea's dance skills there after he hit that game.
01:50 - I didn't know what he was doing,
01:51 but I guess it was good.
01:53 He was excited, so he caught in the moment.
01:55 - Awesome.
01:56 Did you guys know, like, were you like,
01:58 okay, maybe we should get away from him
02:00 and give him some space there?
02:01 - Yeah, he's one of the best isolation players in the league.
02:04 So when the game's on the line like that,
02:06 that's who's hands you want the ball in.
02:07 And we trust our best players like Shea to make a play.
02:11 That's what he did.
02:12 He's good at creating space with our size, depth, and rim.
02:15 He went to his spot and made the shot.
02:17 - Thanks, Josh.
02:18 - Anybody else in the room?
02:21 Go ahead, Paris, right here.
02:24 - Paris Lawson, okcthunder.com.
02:26 It just all night seemed like pushing the pace
02:28 was really working for you guys.
02:29 You know, a lot of your assists came
02:31 on those push ahead passes.
02:32 Just how big of an emphasis was that coming into the game?
02:35 - Yeah, it was big.
02:36 You know, when we're out rebounding the running,
02:38 I think that's where we're at our best.
02:39 And, you know, our bigs run the floor hard.
02:41 And, you know, you got to reward them.
02:42 If you don't, you know, reward them,
02:44 they're not going to keep running hard for you.
02:45 So I try and get them as many easy layups as possible
02:48 just so they keep running the floor and it gets, you know,
02:50 it creates space for the rest of us, you know,
02:52 in the open floor to play.
02:53 So it is a big point of emphasis for us
02:55 when we're out and running.
02:57 You know, I think that's where we're at our best.
02:58 - We're going to ask the room.
03:01 Let's go to Christos on the Zoom.
03:02 Go ahead, Christos, your question.
03:04 - Hey Josh, great game, first of all.
03:06 That game, that performance for you,
03:08 it was the real meaning of you to be effective
03:11 on both ends of the floor.
03:13 - Can you repeat that, Christos, please?
03:18 - Yeah, you hear me?
03:20 - We can hear you.
03:21 Can you just repeat it one more time, please?
03:22 - Okay, no problem, no problem.
03:24 Josh, for you, that game, that performance tonight
03:27 was the real meaning to be effective
03:28 on both ends of the floor.
03:30 - Yeah, it was a big factor for us,
03:33 you know, both ends of the floor.
03:34 I mean, you have to play those,
03:36 especially in this league, to win every night.
03:37 You can't pick and choose, you know,
03:39 your moments on offense and defense.
03:40 You got to try to play a full 48 minutes
03:42 and it's hard in this league.
03:43 There's a lot of talent.
03:44 You're going to mess up, you know,
03:45 you're not going to be perfect,
03:46 but as long as you're playing hard
03:48 and you're playing, you know,
03:49 every minute you're on the floor,
03:51 you're playing as hard as you can,
03:52 you're going to put yourself in the best position to win.
03:54 So playing both ends of the floor
03:56 has been a big point of emphasis for us.
03:59 I think defensively, we've been,
04:01 over the last few weeks, pretty good.
04:03 We've been happy with our schemes
04:04 and how we've executed our scout.
04:06 Offensively, we spoke about, as I said,
04:09 pushing the pace, getting out and running,
04:11 just playing free balls.
04:12 Well, I think that's when Mark,
04:14 that's the thing I love most about him,
04:15 is he lets us just get out and play.
04:17 And he understands that the guys we have on the floor,
04:19 we have creators who just make plays and play basketball.
04:22 So that's when we're at our best.
04:24 And yeah, playing both ends
04:25 is a big part of winning tonight.
04:28 - Thanks, guys. - Thanks, guys.
04:29 - Yeah.
