00:00 All right, here's coach will go with questions in the room and then take them.
00:02 Here's also a concern about com. Coach, you were curious coming into tonight, just
00:10 wanting to see how your team would respond given the circumstances just after that,
00:14 just within the effort that they gave. What did you think overall?
00:17 I thought we managed the game well. You know, I thought we did a really nice job.
00:21 You know, just that's the recipe to win a road game is you just kind of hang around,
00:25 grind it out possession by possession, get quality shots every time down, get stops,
00:32 rebounds. Obviously they were really tough on the glass tonight, but I thought our guys,
00:37 you know, focus and competitiveness and togetherness tonight was really
00:40 evident and it reflected in the competitiveness of the game. And obviously we were a couple of
00:44 plays away and credit them for, for grinding out a win like that. But you know, I thought it was a
00:50 good response by our team. Season high and forced turnovers and steals for you guys. And I just
00:56 defensively, what was clicking? What was working on that end? I thought we were much better, you
01:00 know, tonight playing attack on there, especially in Garland. And we had them playing in crowds,
01:07 you know, and they tried to post some mismatches and we did a nice job of just playing together
01:11 and having all five guys on a string. And when you do that, obviously you shrink the space to
01:16 the opponent and you give yourself a chance to get those types of plays.
01:19 Mark, did you think Shurie was able to manufacture offense even when not a lot of stuff was working?
01:25 I thought he was really good. I thought he played at a really good pace. I thought he made all the
01:31 right plays. You know, I'd love to know how many like, you know, potential assists he had tonight
01:37 just with his willingness to, you know, draw the defense and kick. I thought he just kept
01:41 trusting it, trusting it and have a nice balance of his own attacks. You know, so I was impressed
01:47 with him. He just had a really good floor game and really good poise. Yeah, I thought he played
01:51 a really good game. What was your perspective on those 20-3-2 appearance, maybe live and then
01:58 if you saw the replay? Yeah, I mean, since you're asking, you know, I thought like live, I spent
02:09 probably five seconds of that play trying to call timeout with a player on the floor. I had two
02:15 timeouts before the two-minute mark to burn. I was definitely trying to get a timeout. I was over
02:20 half court. I might have been on the court and could not get either of those guys to see me for
02:25 a timeout. So that was one source of frustration. I think that would have negated everything that
02:30 happened after that. I just watched the replay. I thought he got fouled a couple times before,
02:36 you know, the guy that ended up calling the foul was stacked on the play a little bit. So he might
02:41 not have seen, but he got fouled a few times in that type of play. And so I thought there were
02:46 two opportunities right there to like completely diffuse the situation. And then I thought his
02:53 swing was to rip the ball away. If you watch when the call was made, you know, he was swinging the
02:59 ball away from Garland. I thought he was still playing the play. Garland was trying to grab the
03:02 ball and he was trying to rip it away and caught Love. Love was on the other side of him. I get if
03:09 they want to go Flavor 1 there to like, you know, manage the game. But I think, you know, like if
03:16 you look at what, you know, constitutes a Flavor 2, like if you look at the other plays that
03:22 constitute a Flavor 2, like, I don't know if that was like malicious on his part. You know, so we're
03:29 frustrated by that because obviously Garland does a huge thing in the game. He's our best defender
03:32 and you need him for Garland and stuff like that. And I did, you know, I was not expecting that
03:39 outcome. I wanted to ask about Trey, man. He picked up four really quick fouls and then he
03:45 came back in for a couple of minutes. After that, what was my decision to not really swing him much
03:51 later on in the day? Less of a, you know, a thing with Trey. It's more just like going with
03:57 Wiggins. You know, I thought he gave us really good minutes defensively. Went with Ty tonight
04:02 in those kind of flex minutes. More Josh, you know, played a good amount of minutes there. We
04:08 kind of extended his rotation. So had more to do with who we were going with than who we weren't.
04:13 I love that there's much more to say about him, but what's it,
04:16 Kendricks Williams does his job coming off the bench and he was good.
04:19 Yeah, it's good to have him back. You know, he's just got a really
04:21 stable presence on the team because of how he competes, how consistent he is with his
04:26 competitiveness. He's inside the team and I thought he was doing that again tonight,
04:30 especially in the first half. I thought he kind of stabilized things without competing.
04:35 Anyone else? No one on the Zoom? Thank you, coach. We'll bring players next.
