00:00 Yeah, Gallo, Casey Thunder dot com. What do you think of the fight that your
00:03 guys showed? Just kind of the resilience in that fourth quarter to
00:06 keep this one close throughout. And we hung in there. Uh, you know, we went
00:10 down early 15 or 16 and then played him at least even the rest of the way. So,
00:16 um, I thought we competed. I thought there were a couple times where the
00:19 game could have gotten away from us and we made some big plays to get
00:22 ourselves back in it, gave ourselves a chance. Credit them. They're a good
00:25 team, obviously, but thought our response coming out of the two practices
00:29 and after the Minnesota game was positive. Obviously, it's every team's
00:33 goal to try to keep them out of the lane, keep them off the offensive
00:37 glass, but they do it every single night. What were just some of the
00:40 things that prevented you from being able to completely get them stopped
00:44 down there? Um, I mean, the second chance, but 29 second chance points.
00:49 That's a lot, um, and a lot in the paint and a lot of the second chance
00:52 points came in the paint. So, um, but, you know, we played small of the game,
00:56 you know, to try to offset that advantage. And that's a trade off that
00:59 you make when you're just kind of leaning into being smaller and chalking
01:03 up some of the offensive rebounds to that. That was somewhat on me, but we
01:08 made more threes. We took more free throws, made more free throws. Um, we
01:12 got our own share of offensive rebounds, turn it over less. Um, so we
01:16 had a lot of positives that came from, you know, lineups that we played. But
01:19 you know, you're kind of conceding a little bit up front by playing like
01:23 that. With that being said, it looked like some zone, I think maybe a
01:26 box in one at some point when you were extra small. I know a lot of it is
01:30 out of necessity with guys out, but is this good to test your guys and some
01:35 of these different unique coverages and and get some of these things like in
01:40 their system early? Um, yeah, I mean, no box in one just for the right. I
01:44 don't want to be accused of that. But zone, um, a good amount. And we've
01:48 done that lately with this group. Um, and it's something that we're
01:52 evaluating. It's like we're evaluating players at this point in the season.
01:56 We're evaluating schemes were evaluating offensive things, defensive
02:00 things, terminology. You know, it's a unique opportunity where you can
02:04 continue to explore. And, um, you know, obviously we're not like a playoff
02:07 team. And so we've got a good amount of games here where we can test
02:11 ourselves, test our players, um, and stretch ourselves a little bit, not
02:14 just roll out, um, you know, our vanilla base every night.
02:17 Paris Lawson. Okay, see thunder dot com. Speaking of just being able to
02:23 evaluate players. Lindy, it's the second straight game where he seems like
02:25 he's coming out playing really aggressively, getting a lot of shots up.
02:28 Just what have you seen from him over these past couple of games on the
02:31 offensive end? Yeah, I think, um, you know, I think this applies to Trey,
02:34 you know, from earlier in the year when you've got a guy that can really
02:37 shoot it like that. Um, you know, obviously they have the shooting skill,
02:40 but, uh, tangible in game skills. They have to be able to find shots, you
02:44 know, for a guy that, um, the other team knows is a shooter. And so I
02:49 thought against Minnesota and then again tonight, Lindy did a good job of
02:52 doing that. You know, he found shots and then on a lot of plays once he
02:55 hit a couple, they started overreacting to him. So they started rotating to
02:59 him. A couple plays. Two guys ran to him. He was able to get down the lane.
03:03 He made some really good extra passes and played a simple floor game to get
03:06 other guys shots. I thought we missed a couple of open looks that he created
03:10 on extra passes. So, uh, he was real positive for us tonight. And then one
03:14 more for me wanted to ask about various career high for him. It seemed like
03:18 in the first half, he was just kind of all over the place. What did you take
03:21 away from his performance tonight? Yeah, I mean, he's first child player on
03:24 both ends, and I thought offensively tonight there was some versatility to
03:27 him. You know, he did it a lot of different ways. He did it on drives,
03:30 made some threes, got some roles, got some cuts, ran the floor a few times.
03:35 You know, great run out where we advanced. I think Teo advanced it to
03:38 him. So, um, you know, he did a lot of different ways. And, you know, a lot
03:42 of those things are kind of like Wiggins last game. You know, those air
03:45 skills that we work on with him and that need to be a part of his game. And
03:48 it kind of happened so that, um, you know, they resulted in points for him
03:53 tonight. And so I think it should reinforce kind of the style of play in
03:56 the track that he's been on.
03:57 Jonas out of the Oklahoma. I know it was just a one game blip, but she had a
04:02 big bounce back game tonight. 12 12 from the free throw line really got
04:06 going there in the second half. What would you see from him? Yeah, it was
04:09 good. I mean, I thought, um, Minnesota going back and watching it, you know, I
04:13 thought he got decent cracks, you know, and it just was one of those nights for
04:17 whatever reason, maybe is a make or miss night. Maybe it was fatigue with
04:20 the back to back. I'm interested to see how he bounces back tomorrow with
04:23 another one. But yeah, I mean, he was good. He played all three levels
04:27 tonight, made a couple threes. I think, um, lived at the line, lived in the
04:31 paint, made the right plays when they collapsed on him, had his normal
04:35 gravity. He was very good tonight. Seemed like in that second quarter, you
04:38 guys really made them work, uh, playing good defense, making them work
04:42 offensively. Same at some points in the fourth quarter. Did you sense just
04:47 sort of more fight on that end in this game than the last few games? For sure.
04:50 And I thought, you know, that's kind of who we've been most of the year. You
04:54 know, I think when you step back and you look at the body of work, we've
04:57 been a pretty feisty and connected defense, and every team has some
05:02 relapses during the year. And, you know, we're playing, um, short rotation
05:06 and some new guys. And I think, you know, we slipped a little bit there,
05:10 but we had two practices where we did some good focused work. I thought the
05:13 guys came in tonight. I mean, we didn't stifle them by any stretch, but I
05:17 thought just like attention to detail and competitiveness was definitely
05:20 there tonight. And just your thoughts when you look out tip off and both
05:24 teams are wearing a whole white jersey. Yeah, I don't know. Uh, you know, I
05:28 give them credit. They change very quickly, and I give, uh, the ref put
05:32 time on the clock to warm up. And, uh, then they asked, Shay, if you wanted
05:37 to warm up, and he was like, No, and I think that's a sign of a true Hooper.
05:41 You know, we don't need a warm up. Tip the ball. You talk a lot about how in
05:46 the G League you saw everything. Had you ever seen something like that? I
05:49 saw orange uniforms and red uniforms last year, so the street continues.
05:54 Yeah.
05:54 All right. Yep.
06:01 See ya.
