00:00 Hi, I'm Mark Dunford and I'm here with today's Sussex World Daily Bulletin on Tuesday January
00:06 30th.
00:07 A new Hastings Old Town shop that had aimed to be cash only has been forced to rethink
00:14 after just a month of being open.
00:17 Ark White's Best Before store opened in mid-December offering heavily discounted foodstuff and
00:22 other items.
00:23 It has already attracted a lot of interest and built up a loyal customer base, but it
00:27 seems people are reluctant and unable to pay in cash.
00:31 Now owner Alex White, who for many years ran the popular White's Seafood restaurant at
00:35 the other end of George Street, has given in to the demand and decided to get a card
00:38 machine.
00:39 The closure of a much-loved Midhurst restaurant has been called a huge loss by a spokesman
00:45 at the Midhurst town team.
00:47 Red H, a bar and restaurant on North Street, closed just before Christmas, the spokesperson
00:53 confirmed.
00:54 Alongside a wide range of food, drink and desserts, the venue played host to a musical
00:58 act from all over the South Coast, including cover artists like Jack Boyd and Sarah Saville,
01:04 both with considerable local followings.
01:07 A Worthing pub is offering a free birthday drink to anyone turning 72 on February 29th.
01:13 As in leap day terms, it means it will be their 18th birthday.
01:17 The Brooksteed in South Farm Road thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the build-up
01:22 to spring and manager David Villiers is hoping to get a collection of customer photos.
01:27 He said "Anyone who is 72 on February 29th will actually be turning 18 and we are offering
01:32 them their first legal pint for free.
01:36 We will be checking ID, that is the point, and would love to get photos of them showing
01:41 it while we pass them a pint or any drink of their choosing."
01:46 A beach in Sussex was closed after discovery of a headless animal.
01:49 The carcass, believed to be that of a deer, was found on Littlehampton Beach at 7.45am
01:54 on Sunday, January 28th.
01:57 Coastguard crews were called to the scene.
01:59 A report was made to HM Coastguard by a member of the public about an animal carcass on Littlehampton
02:03 Beach, a Coastguard spokesperson confirmed.
