00:09 A discount retailer has been asked to remove controversial signage from outside its store in Eastbourne.

00:14 On Monday, Eastbourne Borough Council's Planning Committee considered an application from home discount chain B&M

00:20 through which the retailer had been seeking retrospective permission to display a number of advertising signs

00:25 outside its store in the Crumbles Retail Park.

00:28 The application had proven unpopular with some Sovereign Harbour residents who had objected to the proposals in significant numbers.

00:35 Their objections mainly focused on the appearance of several illuminated signs at the rear and side of the building.

00:42 A St Leonard's Seafront venue has closed, it has been announced.

00:46 Azur, which incorporates Teddy's Cocktail, Bois and Grill, was a popular choice for wedding celebrations, birthday parties and anniversaries.

00:54 For the last year a question mark hung over the venue's future due to a long-running dispute between the company which managed it,

01:01 Azur Events Ltd and the leasehold owner, Sea Change Sussex.

01:05 According to Sea Change, Azur failed to keep up with rent payments under the lease.

01:10 West Sussex County Council is asking for residents' views on proposals for transport improvements along the A259 between Bognor Regis and Chichester.

01:19 The proposals being developed are part of the County Council's transport plan,

01:24 which includes making walking, cycling and public transport more attractive options for short trips.

01:30 The A259 is a key route used by many to access education, jobs and local services.

01:36 The proposed improvements are part of a wider strategy that also includes improving the performance of the A27

01:42 and supporting the transition to an increased use of electric vehicles.

01:46 An Italian chef who has worked in a Michelin-starred London restaurant has moved to Hastings

01:51 and is showcasing his food at a pop-up Italian fusion restaurant every Saturday.
