A total of 31 undocumented foreigners were detained by the Immigration Department following an operation codenamed “Ops Kutip" near Suria KLCC, Pavilion shopping centre and Bukit Bintang on Saturday (Jan 6) night.

00:00 A total of 31 undocumented foreigners were detained by the Immigration Department
00:05 following an Operation codenamed Obscuteb near Suria KLCC Pavilion Shopping Centre and Bukit Bintang on Saturday night.
00:13 Immigration Deputy Director-General of Operation Jafri M. Bukthara said
00:18 those detained aged between 19 and 50 were believed to have committed various offences,
00:24 including abusing passers-by to conduct businesses.
00:27 Jafri said the department conducted surveillance and intelligence gathering for about a week before the operation was conducted.
00:35 A total of 24 undocumented foreigners were detained near KLCC while seven were detained near Pavilion.
00:42 Those detained were eight Bangladeshi nationals, six Indian nationals, four each from Indonesia, Pakistan and Nepal,
00:50 three from the Philippines and one each from Afghanistan and Syria.
00:55 Those detained will be brought to the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Office for documentation purposes.
01:00 Meanwhile, those found to have committed offences will then be brought to the Immigration Department in Bukit Jalil for further action.
