00:02 - It's been a tough week across the Southeast
00:06 after a deadly tornado outbreak on Saturday, December 9th.
00:10 15 tornadoes now confirmed across Middle Tennessee
00:14 and Southern Kentucky.
00:15 This a devastating outbreak, and again,
00:18 deadly with two tornadoes specifically.
00:20 An EF3, the only EF3 counted so far,
00:24 that moved through Montgomery County,
00:25 right through the city of Clarksville
00:27 into Southern Kentucky,
00:28 and then an EF2 tornado.
00:30 You can see the reports back here in Davidson County.
00:33 This went through the town of Madison,
00:34 sadly killing three people as it did.
00:37 Now, of course, we're gonna keep you updated
00:38 on this story here on inaccuweather.com,
00:41 but I do wanna show you what comes next.
00:44 It's a beautiful day in the Southeast.
00:46 For those recovering from this weekend,
00:48 for those who just need a break, who need some vitamin D,
00:51 sunshine is widespread today, high pressure's in charge,
00:54 and for so many people,
00:55 it's gonna be pretty comfortable for early December.
00:58 You can see Louisville, Nashville, Huntsville, and Knoxville
01:01 all in the 50s today.
01:03 Nashville verging on 60 degrees,
01:05 a little above the historical average high,
01:07 sunshine widespread.
01:09 Now, I do wanna look back to the sunshine state here.
01:11 Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Tallahassee,
01:13 you can see temperatures in the 60s and 70s,
01:16 but you'll notice Tampa and Orlando, a couple extra clouds.
01:19 What is happening here?
01:20 Well, by the time we get to Wednesday afternoon,
01:22 it's even more in the way of clouds,
01:23 and look at Miami, South Florida,
01:25 a couple of thunderstorms back in the picture.
01:28 I wanna mention most of the Southeast,
01:29 crystal clear, more sun, comfortable temperatures,
01:31 but Florida, you've got some problems.
01:33 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,
01:36 an onshore flow helping to not only make things windy,
01:39 we could see rip currents all of those days,
01:41 Wednesday again, all the way to Saturday,
01:43 and we could have rough surf as well,
01:45 and we're also watching for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
01:48 Watch over the next couple of days.
01:49 Let's play out future rainfall,
01:50 and you can see how Florida, ready?
01:52 We ramp up, we ramp up, and bam, there it is.
01:54 All the moisture across the Sunshine State,
01:57 the yellows and oranges representing
01:59 the heaviest of the rain,
02:00 compared to, let's say, the Gulf Coast,
02:02 across even the Panhandle,
02:03 where, yeah, there's some heavy rain at times,
02:05 it's just a little lighter than the peninsula itself,
02:07 but here's the trick to this forecast.
02:09 It's not all bad news.
02:10 We actually really need rain across Florida,
02:13 especially along the I-75 corridor.
02:16 Now, while it might be a little bit wetter
02:17 along the 95 corridor,
02:19 the rain that we get along 75 from cities like,
02:22 let's say, Tampa, down through Sarasota,
02:24 even Fort Myers, will help with the drought.
