00:00 Well, it was a shot of cold air
00:01 that lasted a couple of days,
00:03 but it'll be long gone by tomorrow.
00:05 But the price for the milder air is
00:07 going to be well some rain now tomorrow.
00:10 It'll feel vastly different.
00:11 In fact, as soon as you get up
00:13 tomorrow morning, head outside,
00:14 you'll notice the difference.
00:15 Not that it's going to be mild
00:17 during the morning,
00:18 but certainly by the afternoon with
00:20 more of a southwesterly flow,
00:21 temperatures will get back to where
00:22 they should be this time of the year.
00:24 In fact, in cities like Buffalo,
00:26 Pittsburgh, Detroit, Columbus,
00:27 Charleston,
00:27 it's actually going to be warmer
00:29 than it normally is this time of the year.
00:31 47 degrees in Boston,
00:32 48 in New York City tomorrow,
00:34 54 in Washington DC.
00:35 Clouds start to increase a little bit
00:37 late in the day Pittsburgh toward Columbus,
00:39 but I think more sunshine
00:40 than clouds farther East.
00:42 It really is a very,
00:43 very nice Thursday,
00:44 but we have some changes on the way.
00:47 Let me take you out into the
00:49 western United States.
00:50 Here is our storm in the California.
00:52 It's relatively weak.
00:53 That's our next storm.
00:54 Just a couple of showers.
00:56 San Francisco,
00:56 maybe a shower in Los Angeles.
00:58 But this system is going
00:59 to come South and East.
01:01 Now initially,
01:01 as I mentioned,
01:02 it's going to be relatively weak.
01:04 How can you tell that?
01:05 Look at the code here.
01:07 The yellow just a little bit
01:08 of yellow and orange here.
01:10 So when you look at our upper level
01:12 energy map, that's where we're looking at.
01:15 But watch what happens as
01:16 we head toward tomorrow.
01:17 That system gets larger.
01:18 You see a larger area of color and you
01:21 know you're already already starting to
01:23 see here some oranges and some red.
01:25 So this system gets stronger.
01:27 That's why we're worried about severe
01:28 weather across the Central Gulf Coast.
01:30 States,
01:31 but this looks like it's going to be
01:33 a soaking rain in the Midwest.
01:34 Now the system is going to weaken a little bit.
01:37 You'll notice you start losing the
01:39 vibrant colors Friday afternoon,
01:40 Friday night.
01:41 You see that not as large and it
01:43 gets a little strung out here,
01:44 but this is still going to produce
01:46 at least a few hours of rain.
01:48 We think as it presses in toward
01:50 the Northeast should be a soaking
01:52 rain around Buffalo around Pittsburgh.
01:53 Then here comes the rain toward
01:55 Washington DC New York City.
01:57 As we get in the Friday afternoon,
01:59 there may be a little wet snow
02:00 with this on the northern side,
02:02 specially as we get into northern New England.
02:04 Even Southern New York.
02:05 There may be a little bit of
02:07 snowflakes at the beginning.
02:08 Then the storm continues to move East,
02:10 perhaps a little bit of snow in
02:12 the mountains of Vermont,
02:13 NH and maybe a little bit of snow in Maine here.
02:16 So we'll keep an eye on that.
02:17 Although the cold air a lot of the
02:19 cold air will be gone by the time
02:21 this storm does arrive,
02:22 so we'll watch that carefully here
02:24 while the while the storm does leave.
02:26 Notice we're not going to see a repeat.
02:28 At least into the weekend of it of
02:30 cold air coming in behind the storm,
02:33 but there is colder air coming next week.
