00:00 Could you introduce yourself first Jackie?
00:02 Okay, hello my name is Jacqueline O'Dell. I work on the discharge lounge at the Queen's Medical Centre.
00:08 What's the discharge lounge for and how has it been working so far?
00:12 So the discharge lounge is for two free beds upstairs for the more acutely iller patients.
00:19 These patients are now ready to go home so they come down to us.
00:24 How has it been working so far and how many patients on average have you discharged?
00:28 So I think we're averaging about 30 patients in the chair area that come to us throughout the day.
00:35 And are they being discharged the same day?
00:38 Yeah, the people in the chair area they are being discharged in the same day.
00:43 Then we've got the bed area, we have 18 beds.
00:46 They perhaps might be with us overnight or a couple of days while they're waiting for the care packages to start,
00:52 family at home and so on from there.
00:56 What have patients told you about the care they've received in here and how quick they've been able to get home?
01:02 The care they've received they're very pleased with, no complaints.
01:05 They like the discharge area, how nice it's all set up, tea and coffee and sandwiches.
01:12 They think it's a really good idea.
