As the Labour government is to announce its first Autumn Budget we found out what people think should be their priorities.

00:00In my opinion, the government's priority should be my heating allowance, which I would have
00:15got £500 as I got it last year.
00:19So I'm 67 years old and I was expecting to get it, you know, but now I'm not and that
00:27has really, really annoyed me.
00:31I should get benefits sorted out and get the rest of the, sort the mess out that the last
00:40government left.
00:43Raising money that's needed for NHS and to look after pensioners and they can save a
00:50lot of money and raise a lot of money if they give up giving it away and funding different
00:56things in other countries, you know, like the wars, et cetera, like that, that have
01:00enough money to be able to do that, but people in this country that works and pays into it.
01:06Lower fuel costs, as I say, because then you can fuel a car better, can't you?
01:10You're driving whilst they're walking about everywhere.
01:14I think that this winter fuel thing is, I don't actually need it myself, but I think
01:19there are a lot of people that do need it that will be above the threshold, so I think
01:22it's important that they get it and a lot of people that need it will be unable to fill
01:28in the forms to get this additional support that they really need and I think that it
01:34would have been far better to give it to everyone and then tax people on it, so I think that's
01:39quite important.
01:41What do you think?
01:42Anything else?
01:43I think we need to stop the boats because...
01:47It's in the budget we're talking about, is it?
01:49Oh, only in the budget.
01:50Oh well, we won't stop the boats in the budget, will we?
01:54I think they do seem to be having a bit of a...
01:56I don't think they should be taxing businesses that employ people because you can't expect
02:04them to stand all the expenditure, extra expenditure.
02:07The NIs have got to pay additional and I haven't, I wish I could make everything go up.
02:11And they've made the working conditions so they can't be, you know, if they don't fit
02:17in or they don't work hard, you can't get rid of them, you've got to keep them.
02:21I don't think that's quite right really, that's sort of saying, well, please come and do as
02:25you like and that's not how businesses will run.
02:28Yeah, and I think the issues that they're doing around people that have got properties
02:33that they're letting out, you know, that they can't get rid of, I know that's not in the
02:36budget but I think that's going to be in the budget, isn't it, about, you know, allowing
02:40people...
02:41Taxing people.
02:42You know, you can't get rid of people, it's called Section 21 and so even if you've got
02:46a bad tenant it can take you up to a year to get rid of them and I can't really think
02:50of anything else to say, I didn't vote for them, so...
