00:00I'm not happy, not happy at all. We hope that they keep to the promise of the public.
00:14Good, I'm not happy. I'm not from Europe, so I can't pass a comment, which I am, so I'm happy, I'm happy.
00:24I'm really not either worried either way, because I think generally the people of this country, a, are ready for change, b, the turnout in the election was very poor in real terms, and I don't think it really reflects the actual feeling.
00:43And as for Newark, the Labour candidate, I've never seen her, never met her, she's never canvassed on my door, and unfortunately I didn't vote for them either.
00:53For the last ten years, Robert Jenrick has been the only person that's supported Newark, because we've not seen a Labour candidate at all, or an independent candidate. So, fair play to the guy, he's done his job, he's the only one that seems to have supported the town.
01:12Well, I think the Tories shot themselves in the foot anyway, because of the inciting and the changes of the Prime Minister. It didn't help.
01:22So, with Labour winning, we expect it to happen. We did find that, you know, with the Tories, like you said, there was all this interchanging and arguing and all this sort of thing, and then, I like Boris Johnson, but of course they got rid of him. So, Keir Starmer's taken over, we just have to see how he's going to do.
01:44See if he does what he says he'll do.
01:46I'm delighted. Are you delighted?
01:49Yes.
01:50And why?
01:51Well, because the government we've had for the last 14 years has been probably the worst government I can remember. They've been corrupt and mendacious and hopeless for the country.
02:03Ideally, we'd have liked Green, but...
02:06Well, that's probably the most disappointing thing of the entire evening yesterday, that he's kept his seat. It's the only thing that really has let the whole thing down.
02:15It's a spicy evening. I'm a Labour man, so I enjoy it. I'm not surprised, that's all I can say. I'm not surprised. There's too much arguing in it.
02:33I'm not surprised. I knew it was going to happen, I'm vexed that it has, because I do think that things, if they'd been left as they were, because we've had a lot of trouble with it between COVID and the war and what have you. I mean, nobody has had to handle things like that for hundreds of years.
02:53It's been difficult.
02:54It's been very difficult.
02:55Very difficult period.
02:56Very.
02:57For whoever was in power.
02:59Yes, yes. They had to do the best they could. What I will say, this morning I watched the Prime Minister when he came out down the street and he spoke really eloquently and very good about the new Prime Minister. I thought that was really good, very eloquent.
03:20Very, very eloquent.
03:21Yes, very good.
03:22Wonderful thing.
03:23The outcome of it is very difficult to assess whether there is going to be any great improvements. That's what most people are saying.
03:34So it's definitely, you know, all my life I voted and it's been Tory and definitely seen a rapid decline in the country. But I don't know if that's because of the, you know, it's hard to say, you know, the world has changed, the world's in a lot of debt. But hopefully the Labour Party can, you know, at least care about the people and the streets around, you know.
03:57Very good.
03:59Why?
04:02I was expecting something of that, actually. Although I had a, what is it called? A vote for football. And I never received it. I wasn't able to vote because I was down here. But I was down here for a vote.
04:27And what is your opinion about Labour?
04:31I'm a bit undecided, really. I just think Labour's going to knock it over with pensions. And she is a Labour man. But I'm a bit, I'm living with someone who's conserving her own life and she's got her own business.
04:55And she thinks the new Prime Minister's going to ruin it for her?
05:03No, definitely not. I honestly believe that he will change a lot of things and make things better. I'm sure he will.
05:18But, I don't know. Yeah.
05:23Let's see.
05:25His life's going to be, what they're going to do, Labour?
05:29Well, I don't know.
05:32He can't even get a hospital.
05:35You can't.
05:37What do you call it?
05:38You can't at the moment.
05:39Don't give them a chance. Give them a chance. I mean, he's not going to do everything right away, is he? It'll all take time. Now once he gets in, he gets started, you'll see the change.
05:53People, all these foreigners coming in, they get everything. We were born and bred here. You can't claim for anything.
06:01Wonderful.
