00:00 Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon, bringing you the latest news from across the North West.
00:06 An 18-year-old job seeker was praised for calling out a rude manager after her nightmare trial shift at a South Ribble pub restaurant.
00:14 The teenager from New Longton attended the Farmers Arms in Wham Lane, Wrightsdake, on Friday, September 15th, where she was asked to demonstrate her customer service skills with a trial shift.
00:24 But her hopes of working there were dashed after a less than encouraging encounter with the restaurant's manager.
00:29 Fresh calls have been made for passenger flights to be launched from Blackpool Airport to Surf Island.
00:35 Members of the Conservative group on Blackpool Council pledged their support for the return of flights to Belfast, Dublin and the Isle of Man during a visit and tour of the council-owned airport on Squiresgate Lane.
00:45 Conservative group leader Councillor Paul Ghaly said, "Since Blackpool lost its direct flights to the Isle of Man, Belfast and Dublin, we have seen a big reduction of visitors from those places.
00:54 I'm really keen to see these routes restored as soon as possible. For regional flight requirements, most of the infrastructure is in place and with some investment in a new arrival and departure area, we should make that vision a reality."
01:08 Exciting plans have been revealed to transform a disused platform at Lancaster Railway Station into a restaurant.
01:15 The proposed site is a building located beneath the Ticket Office building on the disused Platform 6 at Lancaster Station.
01:21 Network Rail are asking the council to give listed building consent to refurbish and bring back into use the building at the Greater Leicester Station.
01:29 The project seeks to reinvigorate the redundant lower level of the building through refurbishment and repair to the existing building.
01:36 The plans include reopening and renovating an original grand staircase down to the lower floor.
01:41 Nine men who conspired to run a multi-million pound Class A drug supply from Burnley and Pendle have been jailed.
01:49 Members of an organised crime group, OCJ, aged 20 to 54, have been sentenced to nearly 50 years between them for conspiring to supply heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine through the North West Yorkshire and the Midlands.
02:02 Jabba Dharmed, 30, of Loon Street in Colne, Umar Hussain, 23, of Southfield Square in Nelson and Zain Shah, also 23, of Cloughton Street in Burnley, pleaded guilty conspiracy to supply all three drugs.
02:14 Jabba Dharmed was jailed for eight years and Shah for eight and a half, whilst Hussain would be sentenced at a later date.
02:21 Awais Kane, 23, of St Paul's Road and Glenn Tranter, 54, of May Street in Nelson, Ali Hassan, 20, of Duke Street in Colne, Sohae Khan, 27, of Cleaver Street and Dylan Gabriel, 21, of Burnley Street in Burnley and Sopan Mushtaq, 20, of Pennine Way in Brighfield, all pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin.
02:43 A Wigan shop workers representative says shoplifting and attacks on staff are probably going to get worse.
02:49 Dave Lowe, branch secretary of Wigan Trades Council, was speaking after reports nationally that shoplifting had become an epidemic, with incidents not always investigated by police.
02:59 John Lewis is among 10 of the UK's biggest retailers which have agreed to fund a police operation to crack down on shoplifting, the Project Pegasus.
03:09 Companies were expected to pay around ยฃ600,000 towards the project, which will utilise CCTV pictures and facial recognition technology to get a better understanding of shoplifting operations.
03:21 And now for the weather. Across Lancashire, throughout the rest of the day, it will be cloudy and rainy, and in Lancaster they're even expecting lightning at around 6pm.
03:30 Temperatures will be highs of 17C across the region and lows of around 11C through the early hours of the morning.
