00:00 Hello and welcome. These are the top headlines making the news today from our newsrooms across
00:04 the North West. A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing
00:09 in Leyland. The victim, aged in his 30s, ran to the corpse store in Dunkirk Lane Mossside
00:14 after he was attacked by a man with a knife at around 6am. The stabbing is understood
00:18 to have happened in a flat above the corpse store and the man ran to the shop for help.
00:23 He was bleeding heavily and staff called for an ambulance. He was taken to hospital and
00:26 police say his condition is serious but stable. A teenager riding a scooter suffered from
00:33 major trauma-related injuries after colliding with a van in Fleetwood. Police cordoned off
00:37 North Church Street at around 3pm on Wednesday as an air ambulance landed on the esplanade.
00:43 North West Ambulance Service later confirmed they were called after a child on a scooter
00:47 collided with a van. A Wigan man is amongst three men who pleaded guilty to Class A drugs
00:53 offences. It follows a county line's drugs bust last month by police investigating a
00:58 conspiracy to supply drugs between Wigan and Merseyside. On Tuesday, June 6th at 6am, three
01:03 dawn raids were made at properties in Wigan, Formby and Kirby by officers from Merseyside
01:08 Police's Project Medusa and Wigan's Challenger organised crime teams. Officers uncovered a
01:13 cultivation of cannabis plants, mobile phones and approximately £2,000 in cash. Thousands
01:20 lined the streets as they enjoyed the Fast and Furious Fort Vale Cone Grand Prix on Tuesday.
01:25 A major event in the British cycling calendar and part of the British Cycling National Circuit
01:29 series, Cone welcomed some of the best riders in the country to Lancashire for what was
01:33 an incredible spectacle. A Haitian man with Parkinson's disease was stopped from going
01:38 into a supermarket because they said he was drunk. John Hoey said he was collared by a
01:42 security guard at the entrance to Morrison's in Morecambe who refused him entry into the
01:45 store. John was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2011 and is waiting to go for deep brain
01:50 surgery to insert electrodes into the brain which change some of the electrical signals
01:54 that causes the symptoms of Parkinson's. Morrison's have apologised for the incident and are carrying
01:59 out an investigation. In the weather, after a gloomy start to Thursday, it should turn
02:05 drier and somewhat brighter but with the chance of showers developing, least possibly heavy.
02:09 Friday should be fairly cloudy with occasionally bright or sunny intervals and a maximum temperature
02:14 of 21 degrees. That's it for now, thanks for watching, see you tomorrow.
