00:03 I think they should be free.
00:10 I certainly don't think they should be like us at Skegness,
00:13 where you have to use your flipping card to go in.
00:16 I don't object to paying 20p, but I certainly
00:19 won't want to pay any more.
00:21 But if they could be free, great.
00:23 The reason I think they should be made free is that people
00:26 don't have change anymore.
00:27 We get into a cashless society.
00:29 So it could be a problem if people want to go.
00:33 I think more would be helpful, plus better signage.
00:37 I think a card payment for that amount, 20p,
00:39 is a bit of a waste of time.
00:42 I mean, the cost of putting it in,
00:43 you may as well let them be free.
00:46 We should have free access to public toilets,
00:51 because as people don't carry cash anymore,
00:57 they might not have the 20p.
00:59 And if we want tourists to come to the town,
01:03 we need to provide facilities for them.
01:07 Simple, really.
01:09 I think the toilets should be free,
01:12 because at the moment, if I need to get the toilet,
01:14 I have to walk down to Asda or Waitrose--
01:18 sorry, not Waitrose, Morrison's--
01:21 and use their south.
01:23 I think it's a basic human necessity.
01:25 So I would prefer--
01:28 well, I mean, I don't pay the 20p.
01:30 So I would rather they were free,
01:33 because I think it's like a human necessity.
01:35 So that would be my opinion.
01:40 No, I'm very happy to pay the 20p,
01:44 especially if it funds the maintenance of the toilets.
01:47 So the ones that we've got have a member of staff, which
01:50 means they're always clean.
01:51 And I value that.
01:53 So I'm happy to pay the 20p.
01:56 If it also means that it would enable
01:58 them to open some up at this end of town,
02:01 then that would be brilliant, because there aren't
02:03 enough at this end of town.
02:06 So very essential for many people--
02:08 children, elderly people.
02:10 When they go off on a bus journey,
02:12 the first thing they want to do is use the toilet.
02:14 And I'm all in favor of more toilets in the town center.
02:17 London Road car park is closed now, unfortunately.
02:20 And it was very accessible to coaches and people
02:23 coming into town.
02:24 The marketplace could be more accessible
02:27 if we had signage to let people know where the public toilets
02:30 are.
02:30 You can use some shops in town.
02:33 But the elderly people are having
02:34 a hard time with their children, trying to use the toilet
02:37 and where to go.
02:38 So it would be nice to let people know where more signage
02:40 would be helpful.
02:42 You can go to big shopping centers and use the toilet.
02:44 But elderly people are having troubles going to the toilet.
02:47 And I'm grateful to the council.
02:49 If they ever consider having free toilets,
02:51 that might be better for people who haven't got the money at the moment.
