00:06 Three Wilko stores in Sussex are set to close due to the lack of viable offers for the whole
00:10 business. Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour Wilko store, as well as The Branches in Crawley
00:14 and Bobna Regis will close this Sunday, with the last day for employees being Tuesday,
00:19 September 19th.
00:21 The other Sussex stores in Worthing, De Beek and Eastbourne, Burgess Hill and Horsham will
00:25 remain open for the time being, however closing down sales are beginning to be put in place.
00:31 Administrators PwC said they had explored all opportunities to save the business, but
00:35 despite extensive efforts, no significant part of Wilko's operations can be rescued.
00:40 In a statement, the administrators confirmed that all Wilko stores and its two distribution
00:43 centres will close. It is anticipated that all stores will close by early October, resulting
00:48 in redundancies of 9,100 employees.
00:51 Meanwhile, a holidaymaker believes he spotted a shark in the sea off Bexhill.
00:56 Stephen Owen from Cheshire was staying with his wife in the town recently when he said
00:59 he saw a fin in the water and took video footage of it. He said he believes what he saw was
01:03 a basking shark. Stephen said "I took the video footage from Marina Court Avenue in
01:07 Bexhill. We saw the fin and we watched for around half an hour, unsure if it was a basking
01:12 shark or a seal. My wife and I thought it was a shark in the end."
01:16 Finally, the hospital in West Sussex has received top marks from its patients, making it one
01:20 of the best in the country.
01:22 Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead scored highly in the latest Care Quality Commission
01:27 Adult Inpatient Survey released on Tuesday, September 12th. The results showed that across
01:32 51 questions, the hospital received the highest score in the country from patients who had
01:36 received inpatient care.
