00:00 The CBCP, which is a member of the NTF-ELCAC, is also included in the religious sector.
00:06 The government's target is to make the government's services more accessible
00:10 and to encourage more rebels to return to the government.
00:15 This is what Rod Lagusa has to say.
00:17 Together with the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines
00:21 and 11 other government agencies in the National Task Force
00:24 to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF-ELCAC,
00:28 the CBCP is the body of the religious sector as well as the business sector.
00:33 The NTF-ELCAC's Bishop Rinaldo Evangelista and Fr. Jerome Ceciliano are the CBCP's body.
00:39 So with them on our side, it would be a lot easier for us to disseminate,
00:46 to cascade the information, the good news of the government
00:52 to those living in far-flung areas.
00:54 And considering the trust, confidence, and respect that the general populace have
01:00 for those in the religious sector.
01:03 In the second Executive Committee meeting held yesterday,
01:06 which was personally led by Fr. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,

01:19 According to the President, there will be changes
01:22 if people have jobs and livelihoods
01:24 that will be possible through the ongoing agrarian reform program
01:27 and other poverty alleviation efforts of the government.
01:31 The President also gave the existence of programs that will help
01:34 to encourage the government to return to the people who have become part of the left-wing group.
01:39 The National Security Advisor Secretary Eduardo Año also explained
01:45 that the government will continue to provide services
01:47 even if a place is declared cleared by the rebelling group.
01:51 Even if the armed groups are no longer there, we want to continue
01:56 because we want to spur economic development in those areas
02:00 and provide livelihood programs to the citizens of these barangays
02:06 who have been neglected for many, many years.
02:08 We are not just uplifting the lives of these people in the countryside,
02:13 but rather building permanent peace and sustainable development in these areas.
02:20 According to the Secretariat, the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security Accords
02:25 will serve as a bridge for the regions
02:29 so that the assistance and support will reach the areas in need.
02:35 So what we can see in the term of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,
02:40 finally, we will be able to end this local armed communist conflict
02:46 and from there, we will secure the development of services.
02:58 Año, the number of rebels is decreasing,
03:01 and the AFP will be able to focus its attention on external threats
03:04 such as various geopolitical issues.
03:07 According to the NTFL CAC in 2019,
03:09 89 guerrilla fronts are located in various parts of the country,
03:13 of which 50 to 100 barangays are being built.
