RT Local Episode 9 - Gopal Soni

In episode 9 of #RTLocal, our series highlighting the voices of those working at the grassroots of tourism, we speak with Gopal Soni, a local miniature painter from Bundi in Rajasthan. He has been practising this art for over 20 years. Pre-pandemic, Gopal and his family had a steady income from tourists who marvelled at their skill. They conducted painting classes, and taught the nuances of this art form to the tourists who flocked to the region. The Covid pandemic has stopped the inflow of tourists to the region and Gopal’s income has come to a standstill. He hopes and prays that the pandemic will end soon, and looks forward to the tourists coming back to the region.
