00:00 Storms might be slowing down if you're traveling through the Northeast and the
00:04 Mid-Atlantic this weekend and across the United States and good looking good if
00:09 you're headed to the West. Jeff Cornish has more on tonight's travel outlook.
00:13 Well we've got some more travel trouble this weekend especially in the Ohio
00:17 Valley and into the interior Northeast. We're going to soon show you the numbers
00:21 for our flight cancellation forecast. Not a huge spike because the I-95 will
00:27 probably scoot through most of the daytime hours on Saturday without too
00:30 much trouble. But here where you can see this cluster of thunderstorms a couple
00:33 of them moving forward in time. Some of these will be severe and we'll look at
00:37 that in just a moment. Now the Western travel scenario looks fantastic. We don't
00:41 have any issues in the West for travel aside from in areas around Phoenix to
00:45 Albuquerque, Santa Fe, some of those areas isolated afternoon storms. It's just a
00:49 hint of monsoon moisture driving that bus. Farther to the Northeast into the
00:53 Northern Plains in the Midwest. We're in good shape, maybe I shouldn't say Midwest,
00:57 but the Northern Plains were in good shape. From St. Louis Northwest it's a
01:00 green light for travel and it's just downright hot farther South. 107 in
01:04 Dallas are flirting with records. Same story in New Orleans at 98 but from a
01:09 travel standpoint as long as you don't break down in that you're gonna be all
01:12 right. Nashville scattered thunderstorms also scattered storms will be possible
01:15 into Miami. Very warm there, it's a hot one. Then we get into some trouble here.
01:19 So Indianapolis scattered storms in the afternoon or in the morning I should say.
01:22 Morning for Indianapolis to Detroit and then through the middle of the day in
01:26 Columbus. Some of those near Columbus could be severe. We could also see some
01:29 severe weather into parts of the interior Northeast too. Buffalo, Montreal
01:32 scattered storminess there. Some significant impacts late in the day in
01:37 New York City. Also scattered storms roll into the rest of I-95 from Philly down
01:41 to DC with some problems. But again the number of flight cancellations not out
01:45 of hand with the timing of the storms rolling in late.
