The first-ever FA Cup game to be played at Station Road Collingham saw Newark and Sherwood United run out 3-2 winners over Hucknall Town.

The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round saw the home side get off to a great start thanks to goals by Mark Dudley in the 11th minute, followed eight minutes later by captain Luke White slotting the second to make it 2-0.

The score remained at that until half-time with Hucknall's attacking element finding it hard to get going.
Soon after the break, it looked like it would be more of the same as The Highwaymen again found the net early thanks to a goal in the 47th minute by Kian Sketchley.
From there the game turned tough as, despite quite a few more opportunities, Newark and Sherwood would not find the goal again.

Meanwhile, it was more stagnation for the Hucknall side until the final ten minutes when Niall Towle stepped up to inspire his team.
He netted a penalty in the 83rd before stabbing another into the net in the 90th minute.

With the score now 3-2, the Highwaymen had done enough and took the narrow lead to the final whistle.
