How to Make a Doll Claw Machine

00:00 I am going to make a claw machine for a doll using two tissue boxes, scrapbook paper, extra
00:20 cardboard, plastic from packaging, fun wire, or a pipe cleaner, beads, a small box, if
00:28 you're having trouble finding the right size box, you can try stacking together several
00:32 pieces of cut cardboard, small toys like squinkies, or toys you may find in a gumball machine,
00:39 and glue. I start by measuring my doll to the tissue box, and I make a mark right at
00:45 her waist. I turn the mark into a line that goes all the way around the box, cut on the
00:50 line drawn, I place the other tissue box on top, I measure it just above my doll's head,
00:58 and continue just as before. I remove the remaining plastic lining from the box, I expand
01:04 the front opening, cut out the sides to make the frame for the top of the machine. I glue
01:16 a piece of scrapbook paper to the back wall, and I added a little bit of mirror scrapbook
01:22 paper to the back wall as well. I cut pieces of clear plastic, then glue them into the
01:29 box using a low temperature hot glue gun. If you do not have a low temperature hot glue
01:34 gun, you can use a standard shortly after turning it on, or tape. I glue the two tissue
01:40 boxes together, I cover a small piece of cardboard from a cereal box and a small box with scrapbook
01:46 paper, I bend the edges of the cardboard, make small cuts at the corners to make a box.
01:56 I plan the layout for the front of the machine, I trace around the box that I made, and cut
02:03 out a hole that is slightly smaller. I cover the lower half of the box and scrapbook paper,
02:09 I cut the paper for the hole, on the back side I fold the sides back and glue underneath,
02:17 I glue the open box on top, glue the covered box to the front, cover the edges with strips
02:24 of scrapbook paper or duct tape, I glue a piece of black paper to the bottom, I trace
02:31 the top onto some cardboard from a cereal box, cut a border going around it, make small
02:38 cuts at the corners, fold on the lines drawn, glue at the corners, make a hole in the top,
02:51 cover the outside with scrapbook paper, repuncture the hole to make the top. To make the claw,
03:00 I use a long and short piece of fun wire, I wrap the short wire around the end of the
03:05 long one, I bend the wires at the end, slide a bead over the other end, and glue into place.
03:17 Put the wire through the hole in the top to make a claw that can move. Use scrapbook paper
03:23 to make the coin slot, beads for the controls, fill it with small toys, and you're done.
03:31 Happy crafting!

04:24 >> Hey girls.
04:39 >> Yes.
04:40 >> Your mother and I are heading out.
04:41 >> We're just gonna run a few errands.
04:43 >> What are your plans for today?
04:45 >> I don't know.
04:46 I kind of feel like a movie.
04:47 >> Yeah, a movie sounds great.
04:49 >> Okay girls, we'll see you when we get back.
04:52 >> Bye girls.
04:53 >> Bye.
04:54 >> Bye.
04:55 >> All right, so who's ready to go?
04:58 And who's going to pay?
04:59 >> Sophie.
05:01 >> Come on, I just spent all of my money at the hair salon, and then some.
05:06 And would you believe they actually made me work it off in this dress?
05:11 >> It was a crime against fabulousness.
05:14 >> All right, Sophie, I'll pay for you.
05:17 But you'll have to make my bed for a week.
05:19 >> You actually expect me to work for it?
05:22 But you used to do stuff like this for free.
05:25 >> Things change.
05:26 >> Hey, Claudine.
05:27 Hey, Sophie.
05:28 [MUSIC]
05:31 That's new.
05:32 Isn't that where the video game machine used to be?
05:35 >> Sophie, it's still here.
05:36 They just moved it over a little.
05:37 >> But I'm used to it being here.
05:40 Can I have an order of nachos, please?
05:42 >> That will be $12, please.
05:45 >> 12?
05:46 But everything with you is always 10.
05:49 >> Sophie, do you want me to save you all some seats?
05:51 The theater is filling up fast.
05:54 >> Wait a minute.
05:55 Did you just change your hair?
05:56 >> Yeah.
05:57 Isn't it fang-tastic?
05:59 Fang-tastic?
06:00 Fang-tastic?
06:02 >> Why does everything keep changing?
06:04 >> Ugh.
06:06 >> Sophie, things change.
06:08 And that's not always a bad thing.
06:11 >> Yes, they moved the video game machine.
06:14 But I think I see a teeny tiny cutesy inside the claw machine.
06:18 >> Is that a limited edition teeny tiny cutesy?
06:22 We want to give a shout out to--
06:24 >> Sunshine 8.
06:25 >> What's up?
06:29 >> Almost there.
06:32 Steady.
06:34 Steady.
06:36 >> Yes.
06:37 And it only took $15.
06:39 I think this is my new favorite game.
06:42 >> You know you're going to be making my bed for a month, right?
