00:00 Prior to commencing the haircut divide the hair as shown, a large curved asymmetrical
00:07 triangle.
00:08 Divide the hair vertically from the apex of the triangle, then take a horizontal section
00:25 just below the disconnected top area. Now cut a line that follows the shape of the head
00:31 at the desired length.
00:49 Now take a fine diagonal section around the front hairline and allow this to drop away.
00:55 Behind this take a parallel section and cut a line that follows the shape of the head
01:00 using the previously cut horizontal section as a guide.
01:11 Now work across the side of the head using the same sectioning and cutting procedure.
01:21 As the back of the head is reached start to allow a slim panel of the nape hairline to
01:25 drop away, this will be refined at a later stage.
01:49 Notice how the sections become more vertical through the centre back.
02:18 Progress the sections across the back of the head.
02:46 Make sure that the same density of the hairline is dropped out on the second side.
03:14 Now work on the crown area and the second side of the haircut.
03:42 Start by taking vertical sections and continue the line from the underneath sections.
03:54 Gradually pivot the sections so they remain vertical through the second side.
04:12 Take a horizontal section and cut down into the front hairline.
04:27 Now continue by taking parallel sections and over directing the hair very slightly up,
04:33 cut using the previous section as a guide.
04:43 The sections will need to pivot slightly to incorporate the side area.
05:11 Now return to the first side to blend the previously disconnected hairline.
05:16 Take diagonal sections and cut a line that follows the cheekbone, still retaining extra
05:21 length through the front.
05:38 Refine the graduation created through the edge by cutting a line against the skin.
05:47 After the outline through the back has been defined in the same way as the side, establish
05:52 a stronger edge through the hairline.
05:56 Divide the hair around the hairline and cut a sharp bowed fringe to the desired length.
06:07 Subsequent sections are over directed forward onto this line.
06:17 Continue taking parallel sections and blend any hair that reaches down onto the guideline.
06:26 Now take a vertical section along the head and using the fringe as a guide, cut a line
06:32 from long to short.
06:40 The rest of the hair through the top is cut using the first section as a guide.
06:53 Now work on the second side of the top, lift the hair up and cut a line that follows the
06:59 shape of the head using the underneath graduation as a guide.
07:03 Now work on the pre-lightened longer panel.
07:06 Lift the hair straight up and back and cut a line from short to long.
07:12 This length can vary depending on the effect required.
07:18 Subsequent sections are cut using the first as a guide.
07:39 Take time to comb the hair and assess any areas that need refining.
07:44 After drying, refine the crown area by using a pointing technique.
07:53 Refine the fringe area through the comb.
08:02 And here is the finished result.
08:04 A delightful combination of inspirational imagery and precision technique, accented
08:10 with rich lustrous colour.
