The European wheelchair rugby championships are the premier competition in the continent, where the best of the best will play each other to win gold and qualify for the Paralympics in Paris next year. Teams from Germany, Denmark, France, Isreal, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and the Netherlands will all touch down in Cardiff to take on the British side, in what will be one of the biggest sporting events to take place in Cardiff this year. Taking place from the 3rd to the 7th May.

Wrexham will host their international music festival FOCUS leading up to the coronation weekend, with welsh acts and artists from across the globe descending on the north Wales city. From Dafydd Iwan to the Coral, and the Joy Formidable, this city-wide festival has people from as far as New Zealand, the USA and Madagascar performing this year, from the 4th to the 6th May, Wrexham will be the place to be.

And of course it’s the coronation weekend, with the big day on Saturday 6th May and these don’t happen every day, so people across the country will be looking for the best ways to be getting involved wherever they can, and Cardiff castle is offering people the chance to watch the whole event from a massive live screen in the grounds. And for those who want to keep the party going, fireworks are returning to Penarth Pier in the evening at 9pm to celebrate the new King.
