Trump just destroyed the U.S.A." That message came not long after White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement.
"President Trump will sign the government funding bill, and as he has stated before, he will also take other executive action - including a national emergency - to ensure we stop the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border," Sanders noted. "The President is once again delivering on his promise to build the wall, protect the border, and secure our great country." That funding bill was negotiated by a bipartisan group of lawmakers and does not provide Trump with the $5.7 billion in wall money he has been demanding. NBC News reports it does include $1.375 billion for border fencing but prohibits "the use of a concrete wall or other Trump prototypes and specifies that only 'existing technologies' for fencing and barriers can be used."
