The Associated Press reports that former Vice President Joe Biden has indicated that he will make his final decision on a 2020 run by January. "Running against Biden is what President Trump fears most," according to Axios.
The media outlet further notes, "Biden is one of the most popular figures among Democrats, but he could face resistance from the party's increasingly vocal progressive wing." Biden has, over the years, certainly shored up a base of his own, and a number of them have been encouraging him to enter the upcoming presidential race. Their support could be motivation enough. "He is not someone who needs to run to cement his place in history…But he is someone who, at the end of the day, feels a great deal of responsibility to listen to those people who are urging him to run," Anita Dunn, a former adviser to President Obama, told the AP. For now, Biden is focused on November's midterm elections. Politico reports that when asked on Monday what's at stake in the fast-approaching races, he replied, "Everything. It's simple: everything."
