A moviegoer in the U.K. was pronounced dead on March 16, about one week after he got his head stuck beneath a chair and went into cardiac arrest, reports the Washington Post. That incident occurred at a Vue Cinema in Birmingham. The man was sitting in the theater's "Gold Class" area, which features electric reclining chairs, according to the Birmingham Mail. He was said to be searching for his phone beneath one of them when the footrest collapsed and pinned him in place. Both the man's friend and theater staff are said to have worked to get him out, but encountered difficulties.  The victim was finally freed when the footrest broke, notes the BBC. The panicked man went into cardiac arrest and was taken to an area hospital, but passed away days later. In a statement, Vue International said that a "full investigation into the nature of the incident is ongoing."
