Bangda Dhodak is a dry preparation where the fish is cooked in spice paste, covered with turmeric leaves and served with steamed rice.This is an authentic Karwar style fish recipe that is very easy and quick to make at home.
Ingredients:
4-5 Bangda Fish
Coconut Oil
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
7-8 Teppal
4-5 Turmeric Leaves
Salt
For Masala paste:
10-12 Bedgi Mirchi
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
4 tbsp Grated Coconut
4-5 Dry Mango pieces

Method:
- Apply little salt, turmeric powder and coconut oil to fish pieces.
- Make a paste of bedgi mirchi, turmeric, salt, coriander seeds, grated coconut and dry mango pieces. Keep this paste aside.
- In a pan heat some coconut oil.
- Add the masala paste and give a stir.
- Add teppal and fish pieces. Do not stir after adding fish.
- Place the turmeric leaves covering the fish pieces.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let everything cook for 15-20 minutes.
- Bangda Dhodak is ready to be served.
